"San Salvador has a wonderful nightlife, especially for young people. There a many discoteques around the city. They have karaokes, dancing and dinner, and a lot of restaurants. One of the places that everyone always enjoys is called Zona Rosa. It is one of the places where a lot of gringos visit. There is good food in this zone, and almost all the restaurants have live music and bars. This place is fun for young people but older ones enjoy it as well. It's really a nice place that you will come back to the next day."
San Salvador's new "Zona Rosa" is the "La Gran Via" bar, restaurant, entertainment complex a far safer place with secure parking and security, located behind the Multi Plaza shopping mall, some 9 km. west of downtown (centro) San Salvador enroute to Santa Tecla, a pleasant suburban city enroute to the Beaches of La Libertad, some 28 km. more distant, due south.
The Zona Rosa has been hit in recent years with senseless hit and run vehicle accidents, bars and discos where drug use is rampant, and the necessity to park one's vehicle on the street, unless the establishment, usually upscale eateries and clubs on side strets with space for parking, provide security. The La Gran Via is a good place to go with family or friends at night for a great meal or a live concert.
