Coral Bay is situated approx 1.5 to 2 hours (155kms) drive south of Exmouth on sealed roads. Its a small village comprising of two caravan parks, the Ningaloo Reef Resort, a small supermarket, and about twenty houses. Nestled and protected by the Ningaloo Reef ,its a wonderland for those who love snorkelling, diving, swimming and exploring the diversity of marine life which is literally a stone's throw from the shore.

Coral Bay is blessed with perfect weather, with no wet season it remains warm and dry throughout the year. Summer temperatures range between mid to high 30's whilst winter's average is around 25 degrees.Perfect for swimming all through the year with wonderful water temperatures without worrying about stingers. Sometimes there will be strong sea breezes in the afternoons.

Coral Bay is the southern gateway to the Ningaloo Marine Park and offers travellers an unique experience with its diversity of marine life.The main attraction is snorkelling (no charge) over the coral reefs which are just off the shore and tour excursions (prepaid) swimming with the enormous Whale Sharks, which visit every year between April to July. Ningaloo reef is one of the few places in the world which they appear regularly. The giant fish do not eat people, only plankton.
Humpback Whales are also a major attraction and can be seen between June and November. Other marine life include the majestic Manta rays, reef sharks, marine turtles, including Hakesbills and Loggerheads, plus over 600 species of fish and more than 300 species of coral. Between October to March watch the many reef sharks playing in the shallow waters of the beach.
Every day at 3.30pm stroll down to the beach and watch the huge Nor West Snappers being fed.

Ningaloo Reef Resort offers great pub and bistro meals. There is one main restaurant but you do have to book. Opposite the supermarket there are a few excellent cafes with variety of meals available including pizza take-away.
How to get there.
Skywest Airlines operate daily retuen flights from Perth to Learmouth Airport. Some flights go direct others have a short stopover at Shark Bay Airport (Monkey Mia). Cars can be hired at the airport, Avis and Budget but not Thrifty. A shuttle bus meets each flight and for a small fee you can catch it to Exmouth.( Approx 37kms) www.skywest.com.au .

Driving : Its approx 1.5hrs from Exmouth Airport, make sure you buy some water before leaving the airport, as there are no shops or service stations in between. Its the outback, so be prepared and have necessary items at all times. There is limited mobile coverage on this route but once you reach Coral Bay mobiles operate. Driving from Perth takes approx 13 hours on sealed roads.
