About the neighbourhood
Byfleet is a small village between West Byfleet (near Woking) and Cobham (near Weybridge). The apartment is located on the High Street near a bank and opposite a classic car showroom. The apartment is very close to Brooklands (the world's first motor racing course) now a motor and aviation museum and home to Mercedes, Benz world. Brooklands is also the site of several major companies in the UK eg Sony and a couple of superstores - Tesco and Marks and Spencers. The High Street has a bank, a pub, and several small restaurants (Indian, Lebanese, Chinese, Kebab and fish and chips) which have eat-in and take-away food. Attractions within a short drive are golf and riding at Silvermere, Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle.
Getting around
A bus stops right outside the apartment which runs twice an hour and takes approximately five minutes to reach West Byfleet station where trains go to and from London Waterloo. The fastest takes only 23 minutes, the slowest 45 minutes. Some trains stop at Wimbledon. The nearest station with trains to London is Byfleet and New Haw - approx 15-20 minutes walk or a 3-5 minute drive. There is limited parking at the station. The nearest supermarket is the Co-op, a 5-10 minute walk down the High Street although a larger selection of groceries are available at Tesco and M&S superstores at nearby Brooklands.
