Borth beach is a great shallow shelving beach with acres of space for everyone - The sea can provide rolling waves suitable for kean surfers and even mill-pond calm at times. At low tide there is so much beach that you could easily have a football or cricket match. Borth itself is a traditional British seaside village with a few basic shops, cafes, and a couple of art galleries, Aberystwyth with its supermarkets, specialist shops,promenade and pier, camera obscura, theatre, and sports centre is a 15 minute drive or you can take the train or bus from Borth. Recently the area was the base for the S4C/BBC production of Hinterland/YGwyll. The road from Ynyslas to Borth features briefly in the latest series of The Crown.

There is good bus service from just outside the house to Aberystwyth (nearest big town) and Ynyslas dunes in the North. The train station linking Borth to every where is just a 10 minute walk down the beach or street as you prefer and if you don't wish to drive there are a couple of taxi firms in the village.
