The villa is part of the complex of Villa Paladino Solunto, a property of exceptional charm and prestige for the peculiarity of its site, by the unique characteristics in the area between Palermo and Cefalù, consisting of a main building and two secondary bodies,standing on a lush hill, emerging on the ridge of the wonderful promontory of Monte Catalfano with the Archeological park of Solunto, ending up at the sea with the Rock of the Ant and its natural marine archeological park, between Gulfs of Palermo and Termini, with a view of the sea, that embraces from Palermo to Cefalù until the high chain of Nebrodi and that over mountains reaches from Mount Pellegrino to the inner mountains of Sicily, with the hills, the rocky promontories and the green valleys of Bagheria, Santa Flavia and rea...The villa is part of the complex of Villa Paladino Solunto, a property of exceptional charm and prestige for the peculiarity of its site, by the unique characteristics in the area between Palermo and Cefalù, consisting of a main building and two secondary bodies,standing on a lush hill, emerging on the ridge of the wonderful promontory of Monte Catalfano with the Archeological park of Solunto, ending up at the sea with the Rock of the Ant and its natural marine archeological park, between Gulfs of Palermo and Termini, with a view of the sea, that embraces from Palermo to Cefalù until the high chain of Nebrodi and that over mountains reaches from Mount Pellegrino to the inner mountains of Sicily, with the hills, the rocky promontories and the green valleys of Bagheria, Santa Flavia and reaching eastwards the magnificent tops of Madonie (alt. m 2000). The villa, planned by Armò, was erected in the beginning of the last century by Domenico Paladino, famous Florio's cousin and nephew of the builder of the Royal Hunting Palace of King Ferdinando IV Borbone at Ficuzza's wood (Palermo). It is the meeting's centre of the International Institute for Advanced Studies of Space Representation Sciences. Villa offers romantic, regenerating and pleasant stay for weeks or weekends in a dreaming and welcoming atmosphere. The three bodies of Villa Paladino, smartly standing on the slope and the ancient marble fountain, which adorns the square, are immersed in a fantastic and amazing atmosphere, between the exuberance of nature, owner of the place, rich in different species of birds (among them the superb Peregrine Falcon, so loved by Frederick II of Swabia, which nests on the Soluntine rocks) and in countless species of plants,thanks to the extraordinarily welcoming climate (tamarisk, oleander, giant august Pomelia Strelizia, ivy, wisteria, Sicilian and azzorico jasmine, carob, olive tree, maritime pine, date palm, dwarf palm, mimosa, geranium, yucca, eater laurel, boxwood, pittosporum, dragon tree, aloe vera, cipressetto, pink grapefruit, etc.). All this, in a space between history and mith, that, embracing two bays and overlooking the green hills of Bagheria and Santa Flavia, with the famous eighteenth - century villas built by the best Sicilian nobility, and the fantastic Soluntine Basilica, leaves the visitor charmed at such a wealth of nature and culture. The villa is adjacent to the Archaeological Park of Solunto and next to its Museum. Alongside is extending the Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano and, near the coast, the underwater archaeological site of the Formica. 200 meters away you may visit the touristic village of Santa Flavia and the fishing villages of Porticello and S.Elia, where you can taste delicious Sicilian dishes. Approximately 1 Km. after S.Elia, driving along the quite panoramic coastal road, that flows around the Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano, you’ll get the seafaring village of Aspra and the promontory of Mongerbino with its breath-taking views on the Gulf of Palermo and Monte Pellegrino. 200 meters away, Santa Flavia’s Station allows you to take one of the trains going to Palermo or Cefalù. In 30 minutes, by car, you can easily reach Palermo and visit its precious monuments, its old town, the largest in Europe, where lie the spectacular markets, rich and fragrant, its museums and its major theaters. Don't forget to visit the well known beach resort of Mondello and the town of Monreale, with its Cathedral, the most beautiful and important in the world. At the same time you may easily get the famous medieval town of Cefalù, with its fantastic beach and the Arab-Norman Cathedral, or the enchanting Castle of Caccamo. Lastly, in a few minutes, you can visit the spectacular Madonie National Natural Park (mt.2000 level sea), the highest mountains in Sicily, after Etna, a paradise of rare plant and animal species protected. Un gîte très agréable dans une orangeraie non loin de Palerme , un lieu de vie fonctionnel meuble avec bon gout, agrémenté des peintures de notre hôte ,où plusieurs petits appartements cohabitent C'est une excellente adresse , l'accueil des propriétaires est chaleureux . Seule petite ombre au tableau ,le chemin d'accès est périlleux pour une voiture ordinaire tout en bosses et en creux Je le recommanderai à d'autres personnes

PERFECT STAYING
The house were perfect and so charming. We were very well welcomed buy Marida and Giuseppe Maria. The view is outstanding and you can appreciate a wonderful sunset. For being there 10 Days a long, we were very happy to appreciate the calm and the serenity of the place. Porticello near around is very pleasant harbour with nice restaurants. Palermo is about 20 km and easily reachable. We had appreciate the big house and the swimming poor and also the company of Marida and Giuseppe/ I recommend this house strongly for who likes a good quality of stay in Sicily.

Un peu déçus de ne pas avoir compris que nous ne serions pas seuls (il s'agit en fait de 5 logements mitoyens), mais l'environnement est de toute beauté et nos voisins étaient sympas. Propriétaires disponibles et souriants.

Villa Paladino Solunto, adjacent to the Archaeological Park of Solunto and the Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano, close to the fishing villages of Santa Flavia, Porticello and S.Elia, is a fascinating and enchanting site, between history and nature, a very peaceful place on a small hill dominating the gulfs of Palermo and Cefalu, where adults and children can enjoy and spend unforgettable holidays. It is a perfect place for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing break thanks to the gorgeous setting with an incredible pool similar to a natural lake in the middle of a large mediterranean garden, the great views down to the city and the Gulfs of Palermo and Cefalù, the spectacular sunsets on the sea you can admire sitting on the benches and deck chairs around the pool. It is a great place to spend vacation out of the crowded turistic tracks: it turns out to be a good starting point with easy access to motorway and manageable driving time to majority of attractions. The closest sand beach is only mt 800 far from the Villa. Boat trips with skipper in the clear waters around the Scoglio della Formica (the Rock of the Ant), home of dolphins, up to the Aeolian Islands and fishing can be arranged in summer. 200 meters away from the Villa you may visit the touristic village of Santa Flavia and the fishing villages of Porticello and S.Elia, where you can taste delicious Sicilian dishes. It 's possible to go in less than an hour from the sea to the mountain, taking part in sightseeing, excursions in the great Madonie National Park (alt m. 2000) a paradise of rare plant and protected animal species. If you haven't a car, you can easily go sightseeing Palermo, Cefalù, and many other places thanks to the nearest train Station of Santa Flavia or the pullmans leaving from Bagheria.
Getting around
If you hire a car, I have a large parking inside the villa. As the train station of S. Flavia is close by,you can easily go by train (20 minutes, E. 2,80/person) to Palermo and then go sightseeing Palermo, the well-known Duomo of Monreale and the lovely beach of Mondello by a red touristic bus (HOP ON-HOP OFF) that stops in the most important touristic places. You can easily go to Cefalù by train too. On the website trenitalia VIAGGIATRENO you can see the schedule times of trains.

How to get there
WITHOUT CAR I can put at your disposal a taxi driver for the transfer from the airport of Palermo/ Catania and back. He is at your disposal to go sightseeing Palermo and Sicily If you arrive at the airport of Palermo, you can take the metro till the Central Train Station of Palermo and then the train to Santa Flavia. You must take the train to TERMINI IMERESE. You can come home walking or my taxi driver can drive you home. WITH CAR Do you arrive at the airport of Palermo / Catania / Trapani? Take the A 19 (Palermo - Messina) until the exit Casteldaccia. Then, follow the signals to go to the National Road 113, direction Paleremo. After 5 minutes about, you'll see the train station of Santa Flavia on your left. Pass the cross (follow the National Road) and 100 metres after you'll see a yellow letter box with the writing Villa Paladino Solunto on your right. turning on the right immediately before the Esso petrol station. You’ll see other signals Villa Paladino Solunto. . As you see a gate on the left of STOP call me on my phone or ring where you read VILLA PALADINO SOLUNTO and I'll open it. Drive for 200 meters You're at home
