This house is well equipped as a family home (rather than a holiday let) and oozes traditional Spanish charm whilst at the same time offering modern conveniences (e.g. wifi). It is a sociable house with plenty of communal space and is perfect for large families, groups of families holidaying together or groups of friends. A trip to Pinos del Valle will give you an insight into traditional Spanish village life. Where to start - a beautiful well furnished house with a supurb kitchen, large roof terrace and spectacular views over the Lecrin Valley. Easy travelling on the new motorway from Malaga. Stop at Eroski Supermarket just off the motorway at Velez de Malaga to stock up en route (open to 10.00pm Monday to Saturday).
This house is situated on a quite street in the village of Pinos de Valle, good basic shopping in the village - great bakery. Try the local red - it's the one with the minimalist labelling at the shop next to the church.
The village is surrounded by citrus and olive groves - the scents are tantalising.
The owner is unbelievably helpful - she even bought us a paella pan at our request!!
A meal or three at El Penon at Salobrena beach is a must as is a visit to the spa town of Lanjeron with its spectacular Moorish Castle (free entry).
Village and beach Spain at its best - and of course only 20 minutes drive from Grenada.
A must stay house for a fabulous...

About the neighbourhood
The house is well located for easy access to the Motril/Granada motorway, and to be able gets easy access to the motorways heading in the direction of Madrid, and Murcia/Costa Blanca. The wonderful city of Granada is a c.25 min drive. The beautiful Alpujarras and the traditional spa town of Lanjaron can be reached in 20 minutes, with Orgiva a further 10 mins away. Beaches can be reached within 20-25 minutes.

The village of Pinos del Valle has 2 supermarkets which will supply your basic needs (including meat and fresh veg), a baker, a bank and pharmacy - all within 3-4 minutes' walk from the house. A larger Mercadona supermarket is 10 mins away (Durcal/Niguelas junction) with a great fish counter and Carrefour Hypermarket and El Corte Ingles department store can be found in Granada c...

How to get there
Airport: Granada: 35.0 km
Car hire is essential. Granada airport (BA from London City Airport) is 35 minutes away. Malaga is an easy 1.5 hour drive, and Almeria a little further away at 2 hours. We have found BA offering excellent fly/drive packages this year with deposit only payable until 10 weeks from departure.

Parking is usually available outside the house, but note the streets are narrow so keep this is mind when choosing a hire car.
