Apartment Cortal, recently classed 2*, is a 30m2 one bed apartment for two people max with private terrace and independent access in a detached villa with great views over the valley and surrounding mountains. Its situation is right at the top of the village on the edge of the old town behind the castle and the ancient church in a residential neighborhood, next to two large vegetable gardens and a local Bistrot restaurant. It is about a 10 min walk to the thermal establishment, 2 mins by car, and about 5 mins by foot from the centre of the village with its bakeries and local commerces. There is a very well stocked supermarket at about a 5 min drive. It is very peaceful, with just the church bells punctuating the silence. The apartment itself is well maintained and equipped by the owners who live in the main house and who are also owners of the nearby ‘Bistrot Le Cortal’. It has one bedroom furnished with a double bed and lots of space for clothes and storage. There is a lounge/kitchen/sitting area, fully equipped, with tv and access to the private courtyard with garden furniture and barbecue. And finally there is a shower room that has been recently updated. This also houses a washing machine. We offer the apartment fully supplied with bed linen, towels and tea towels with all costs for heating, cleaning etc included in the rental price. Wifi is also included. There are no hidden extras! Small dogs are accepted and since the house is built against the side of a hill, access is via a steep-ish path that would be quite challenging for those with mobility problems or physical disabilities. Parking is at 80m, next to the Mairie. We require a 150€ refundable damage deposit and 25% of the total rental charge to book the apartment. Happy holidays!More

Thank you for your review. I have to disagree with you about it having no view though, the views are right over the town and mountains and are lovely!

Lovely place to stay. Everything you need and a wonderful restaurant just yards from your front door. Easy to get to the bus and supermarket. Short stroll into the village centre through the old part of town. Definitely worth a stay for 1 or 2...More

Vernet-les-Bains is a beautiful mountain village situated at an altitude of 650 metres (about 2,000 feet) in the eastern Pyrenees of France. It is an ideal centre for visitors and holidaymakers. Ryan Air fly to Perpignan airport which is our closest airport at a 35min drive. Budget airlines also fly to Beziers, Gerona and other Barcelona airports which are slightly further away, but a fast drive on the motorway.
