For the more extreme sport enthusiasts, the Sierra Nevada ski slopes are 90 minutes away as is the coast for the beach and water sports. There are a number of natural parks and lakes that you can visit too! El Granero at Casa Moya is located in a small Spanish farming village surrounded by olive groves within the Granada, Cordoba and Seville triangle. Although situated in the countryside we are only 10 mins from the civilisation of our local historic architectural town Alcala la Real that offers all the amenities you need during your stay with us. The town is home to La Fortaleza de la Mota a historical fortress dating back to 727 AD that has seen many battles during its history and well worth a visit as well as the many historical buildings that all have a story to tell. After soaking up the cultural atmosphere, there is an abundance of bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy Spanish cuisine at its very best or try the 'tapas' available at the many bars in town. El Granero offers our discerning guests a charming 2 bed, 2 bath tastefully furnished self catering cottage where couples, friends or single travellers can enjoy a high level of comfort and a child free environment. We provide everything you may need to make your stay with us enjoyable including Egyptian cotton linens and towels as well as pool towels, guest robes and toiletries. No need to pack a hairdryer, we provide those too. Free wifi, tv and fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to make your stay with us easy and feeling like home. For our guests convenience, we provide a welcome pack on arrival to tide you over until you wish to shop for provisions. 'El Granero' has it own furnished private terrace and covered terraceffor dining and relaxing. Guests can also enjoy the scented garden stocked with aromatic plants and flowers attracting bees and butterflies. The pergola offers a seating area with shade from the sun and beautiful vistas of the local sierras. The saltwater Swimming Pool is available for the sole use of our guests and is open from May to the end of September averaging temperatures of 26C, the perfect place to relax and have relief from the heat of the day. Finished in rustic style using natural stone, it blends seamlessly into the landscape and positioned to take in the fabulous vista whilst floating gently in the sun warmed water. With easy access down steps and a water depth of 1.2 metres, it is a safe and perfect way to cool down from the day's activities or for respite from the summer sun. The pool terrace is furnished with sunbeds and umbrellas and dining set with access to the summer kitchen complete with gas BBQ and running water and also features a shower room for convenience. The countryside has low light pollution which means you can experience the most amazing starry nights and it is a perfect place for stargazers and astronomers. We are wildlife friendly and you may be lucky and get to see and hear cicadas, geckos, lizards, snakes, all sorts of spiders, carpenter bees, mammoth wasps, dragonflies, honey and bumble bees, birds, bats, foxes, wild boar and birds of prey. There is something for everyone at our cottage in the campo.❤️ N.B Although we are embracing and encouraging all to reduce carbon debt, unfortunately we are unable to facilitate the charging of Electric Vehicles at Casa Moya. However, the nearest charging point is at Lidl supermarket only 10 minutes from Casa Moya. Whether you are looking for an active, cultural or relaxing holiday, we are sure you will find it with us in rural Andalucía. Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: VTAR/JA/00900

Interaction with guestsAs your hosts, we will be available to greet you and give you the tour of El Granero. We will respect your privacy during your stay with us, however we will be on hand to give you any local knowledge if needed. We are dog lovers and have 2 elderly small terriers that we rescued 12 years ago from our neighbour whilst living in France. We are also fostering 2 spanish dogs that were abandoned locally. They are very friendly but will be refrained from interacting with you unless you wish to meet them.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This place deserves more than 5 stars - it’s true rural Andalucia with the fantastic benefits of a really well thought out holiday accommodation. The Granero is a proper home away from home with everything you’d ever need - and the beds/sofas are sumptuous and cosy. I can’t praise Bev and John enough for their hands-on/hands-off hosting abilities whereby everything is on tap yet we’re left alone to crack on with holidaying or relaxing at our leisure! There is an awesome heated saltwater swimming pool with mountain views in the beautifully decorated terraces where you can while away your time in peace. The Lidl at Alcalá la Real is extremely useful and the roads are well connected so visiting either the big cities or the local historical sites like the Peñas de Los Gitanos is simple. Absolutely recommend and I’ll be back shortly!

An oasis amongst the olive groves
We've just come home from a return trip to Casa Moya, an oasis amongst the olive groves. We took our family this time who, after our previous tales, felt like they already knew Bev and John. Our amazing and welcoming hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a peaceful and relaxing one. Within easy reach, we took day trips to Granada and Cordoba and spent the remaining time relaxing by the pool or exploring the local town. Thanks so much, Bev and John, we will be returning again soon!

El Granero, the most relaxing experience
This was our second visit to El Granero and we will be back again. The location is very peaceful with outstanding views. The historic town of Alcala is approximately a 10 min drive and has everything you could possibly need. We took one of the many paths through the olive groves to the next village Cequia where we found Cafe bar El hogar that serve excellent tapas. During our stay Bev and John were once again excellent hosts. We highly recommend a stay at El Granero.

A Hidden Gem
When I think about Casa Moyà it makes me smile. I have just returned from my second visit to this amazing property and have already rebooked for next year. Location is perfect, peaceful, relaxing and with amazing views yet close enough to town (around 10 minutes drive for a spot of shopping and food supplies) you couldn’t ask for more. Alcala la Real also has a great market every Tuesday which is well worth a visit. The accommodation is 5 star worthy, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and with every amenity you could think of. The outside space has many separate seating areas with an abundance of flora and fauna and the pool is just perfect, not too deep (around 4ft) large enough for swimming and great for pool games. The hosts Bev & John are so welcoming, on hand for any questions you may have and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. My advice would be don’t think about it just book it you won’t regret it.

An oasis of peace and tranquillity
Four of us stayed for a wonderful 3 night break at this stunning property and enjoyed it's fantastic elevated location and the luxurious comfort of furnishings, kitchen and bathroom. Oh and a heavenly pool. Perfect location for a peaceful break but close to traditional Andalucian towns and villages. A wonderful welcome pack and warm friendly and knowledgeable hosts backed up by well researched info book just added to the wonderful experience. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks so much Bev and John. An evening cold beer on that stunning terrace is right up there!!!

Fantastic place and lovely hosts
We had a fantastic week at this spacious, well appointed and wonderfully peaceful location. The welcome pack was very generous and included wine, beer, bread, ham, eggs, bacon, milk and fruit - in fact it pretty much kept us sorted for breakfasts for the week. Rooms were spacious, nicely furnished and spotless. The kitchen had everything you could wish for and the seating areas, both inside and out easily accommodated our party of 8 (which is more than they usually have). The area is so peaceful and quiet we really relaxed. Bev and John the hosts were friendly and eager for us to have a great week. We will be back as soon as possible!

Stunning!! - Had it all!!
What a place!!!, Bev is an excellent host, as others have said the welcome pack is the best we have ever had, we were arriving late so Bev cooked us a Lasagne and even though we arrived much later than expected, Bev waited up for us. The accommodation is stunning and typically Spanish, the facilities in the villa are extensive, and of a very high quality, during our stay there was nothing that we needed that we couldn't find, and the extra bathroom accessories was a nice touch. The setting is breathtaking with views over the mountains/hills, the lovely town of Alcala la Real is a ten minute drive away which has everything you could need. Lastly I would just like to thank Bev for her hospitality, nothing was to much trouble, and her communication Before, during and after our stay was excellent, which is always reassuring when travelling abroad. I would highly recommend Casa Moya and we will be visiting again next year, just worried that there might not be vacancies!!

Our best holiday ever
My youngest son who had his 10th birthday while at Casa Moya said "The best holiday ever" and we all had to agree. The location is wonderful, the views stunning and the pool and house just perfect. Bev was the perfect host, happy to help but still allowed us to feel comfortable and relaxed while staying in her home. Alcala la Real the town just 10 minutes away has everything you need and just feels so friendly.

Perfect Location for a Relaxing Break
We stayed at The Granero on the second leg of our southern Spain vacation. Having traveled for 4 hours from Jimena de la Frontera (45 minutes north of Gibraltar) via Ronda (well worth a visit), we arrived at about 3:30 on a Sunday. Bev, our host, was there to greet us, and show us around, and had stocked the fridge with some essentials - which was fantastic! The Granero is tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished, and has all amenities of home. The bedrooms were great, and mattresses really comfortable. We enjoyed using the pool (essential, given the temperature!), and eating out on the terrace in the evenings. The property is in a small village, so really quiet, which is a real benefit for reading and studying (we had a teenager with us who had a lot of holiday homework to get through). However, it is close enough to a number of attractions, and we did a couple of trips. Alcala La Real is 10 minutes away, and a reasonably sized bustling town. We had chocolate and churros for breakfast in the town park, and then spent several hours exploring the really well restored Fortaleza de la Mota, which sits on the hill at the top of the town. For 6 Euros each, we were able to take a self-guided audio tour, and ended up in a well produced (with subtitles) video presentation that portrayed the history of the Fortress and the town - very well worth the experience. On another day, we headed to the Alhambra Palace in Granada. It took us 40 minutes to get there by car - very easy, with good directions kindly provided by Bev. The Alhambra is a magnificent place to visit (but you have to book tickets for one part in advance), and we could easily have spend much longer there. All in all, the Granero is a great place to kick back and relax, and also a good base to explore the surrounding area. I would thoroughly recommend to others!
