This is our 2nd stay at all three cottages. We have a yearly family reunion consisting of age range 10 months to 74 years. We all found our cottages clean and comfortable. We used Mews cottage to all meet up together, 20 adults 3 children. It was more than ample space for us all. Stair gates, highchairs and travel cots available on request. Welcoming baskets in all cottages were very well received. There were no issues with any of the cottages so I was very surprised to read such a negative review from someone who stayed in Mews cottage. It seemed they were describing a completely different cottage. It was warm, clean comfortable and had everything you would need. I would definitely recommend it and the other 2 cottages.

We recently stayed at this cottage and what an amazing place it was. We had 4 families all staying together and we were a bit worried that we would all get in each other's way, but there was just so much space that it worked perfectly. The lounge was so cosy, with a lovely wood burner and plenty of seating for everybody. We didn't use the conservatory but I would imagine it's lovely to sit in there on a sunny day and relax. There was ample seating around the huge dining table, with even more seating in the spotless kitchen. Every bedroom was of a high standard, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The children all loved spending time playing the games in the garage. We were pleasantly surprised with how equipped the cottage was and all the little extras that were provided, especially the welcome hamper. We couldn't fault anything and will definitely be booking to go back again.

Very disappointed with the standard of this property. Evidence and capture of mice in the kitchen Mould in the conservatory Broken shower in main bathroom Faulty lock on bathroom door Door handles missing leaving sharp screws visible Several light bulbs missing Shelving in fridge not suited for purpose - collapsed when anything was put on them Lots of cobwebs visible and upon moving furniture found rubbish underneath which in our conclusion meant the property had not been deep cleaned ready for rental My son rented this property as a surprise for my 60th birthday. To say that he was highly embarrassed about the condition of this property is an understatement, he also did not want to ruin our stay by making a complaint whilst we were there. Since returning he has written to the letting agent to highlight the problems. The reply we got was very interesting to say the least The owners thanked us for highlighting the problem with the mice - no mention that dish clothes had been used to stuff the holes where the mice where getting in!! They were sorry but they hadn't had time to sort out the mould!! The property manager would have rectified the problems had they been informed - no apology that the property had been let in such a poor state!! Needless to say we would not recommend this property to anyone.

I am very sorry to hear about your recent experience at one of our properties, this is not the feedback we are used to receiving from guests, I sincerely wish you had brought the issues to our attention during your stay and given us the opportunity to rectify them via our 24 hour call out service. Mews Hill is wonderfully located within the New Forest National Park with adjacent paddock, stables and stunning woodland walks. The New Forest attracts many visitors far and wide and is famed for it's free roaming wildlife, unfortunately as a consequence of this rural setting, small field mice do very occasionally visit when doors are left open and we are very sorry that such a visitor caused distress to our guests, needless to say we have instigated humane measures to counteract this eventuality in future. With regard to the individual points you raised, these were addressed in the original correspondence we had via the agent you booked with. As you are the only poor review we have ever received, we are determined that this will not happen again and extras steps have been put in place to ensure all of our guests receive an excellent experience when they stay with us. If you look at our other reviews here, on our website and other agencies websites you will see the majority are 5 Star with many of our guests returning year after year. Our offer of a discount on any further stays with us still stands. Kind regards Caroline

This house had all that we wanted for a celebratory weekend away, and more. The grandchildren loved the games room and outdoor play area and woods to explore. We adults enjoyed curling up in front of the log burner in the evenings and country walks. The house is spacious, beautifully presented and very well equipped for 12 people.

We rented Mews Hill and the adjacent Criddlestyle Cottage for a joint family 70th birthday celebration over the May bank holiday weekend. There were twenty of us including 6 grandchildren and 3 dogs. The accommodation left little to be desired and we were able to seat all twenty of us for a dinner on Saturday evening, as a table can be arranged at Mews Hill that can seat that number. The whole weekend was booked through Short stay Homes and Manager Richard made sure that all went smoothly. We hired a catering service for the meal on Saturday night and would heartily recommend Shaw's Catering. The food was superb and freshly cooked on the premises by chef Luke Shaw and his assistant chef Jack and served by the delightful Meg, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Needless to say the surroundings are spectacular and the George pub fitted us all in, including the dogs, for a super Sunday lunch. I'd really urge anyone thinking of a similar celebration to consider this venue.

This property is stunning. We stayed there with our son, daughter-in-law and two small grandchildren and our daughter. There was plenty of room for everyone and I particularly like the layout which enabled son daughter-in-law and grandchildren to sleep on the ground floor with their own bathroom. The other adults then had their own rooms on the first floor with en-suite bathrooms. There is a large lounge that we didn't really use as the weather was so good we were outside most of the time. The large kitchen/diner was ideal for family meals The only slight niggle was that the showr cubicles were a bit on the small side although the bathrooms were spacious and well fitted.

We stayed here over new year and with 7 adults and a toddler we had a huge amount of room and never felt like we were on top of each other. The kitchen was very well equipped and a separate utility room was extremely helpful as we had such bad weather!! One of the most tasteful and comfortable cottages we have rented. Great location for walks/cycles in the forest and Ringwood and Salisbury all within easy reach. Would definitely recommend

This is a beautiful property. Spacious, clean and very well furnished and equipped. I stayed there for Christmas with my husband, brother, sister and elderly mother. There was ample space for us all to be together and also to get away from each other! On arrival we found a Christmas tree, mulled wine and biscuits left for us to enjoy, plus milk, tea, coffee etc - all very welcome. It wasn't cold enough for us to light the wood burner, but the heating was very efficient, making a warm, cosy house for us to enjoy while storms raged outside. The kitchen was better equipped than my own, and we cooked a full Christmas dinner without any problems (although the hob seemed a bit complicated to us). The living room and bedrooms were all very comfortable, with high quality furniture and attractive artwork. I have stayed in many self catering properties and would rate this as one of the best. A problem on arrival with a shortage of towels was sorted quickly and apart from that there were no issues at all. It would be a fabulous place to stay in the summer.
