This was our second time vacationing in the Flamingo cabin and it was just as wonderful as the first time. We enjoyed everything we did before and this time we kayaked down the mangroves and to the store for ice cream cones. We also had pizza delivered right to our dock. My husband enjoyed his daily conversations with Sonny listening to his many experiences worldwide. I enjoyed visiting Rosina's many pets holding and feeding her monkeys, parrots, toucans etc. We loved watching the many fish, lobsters and rays swim by below our deck. Sonny and Rosina are wonderful hosts always ready to help with anything you need.

Well appointed quiet gem
We spent a quiet week with Rosina and Sonny. She was was informative and super helpful. Rosina is available to to take you on tours any where on the island and then you can return to your private bungalow and enjoy the view. Don’t miss out on the hidden pool at Trico’s open to customers just a quick kayak away. The hidden mangroves are wonderful to kayak through to the swimming hole. A real “local” feel.

Peaceful Paradise
We had a fantastic two weeks in the Flamingo House. It was fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. Sonny and Rosina were wonderful hosts and very informed about their island. We enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking, and exploring the area in the motorboat that was available. They were kind enough to take us to the local grocery store once a week and a local fisherman would stop at our dock to sell us his daily catch which we cooked on the gas grill provided. Hole in the Wall and Trecos would pick us up on our dock and bring us back after a reasonably priced delicious meal. Rosina is always willing to take you on any excursion you would like, we enjoyed horseback riding and snorkeling. We absolutely love Roatan and will be back to stay in the Flamingo House.

Fabulous Getaway
My husband and I stayed at the Flamingo cabin during Christmas and New Years. The Flamingo cabin lived up to its description and prior reviews. Rosina was always responsive in responding to inquiries regarding the property. Coordinating our arrival, even if a day late (unexpected flight delays resulted in missing connecting flights) with Rosina was easy. In fact, because of the delay in our arrival, we had decided to stay extra days if the property was available. And to our surprise and delight, it was, which allowed us another 5 lovely days on the island and in the cabin. We needed help in figuring out how to get warm and hot water in the shower, which was remediated the first morning by Sonny.
Renting one of their small motor boats was the best way to enjoy the surrounding areas. It allowed us the freedom to come and go at our leisure. Availability of all the other water toys, kayaks and snorkeling gear, was fantastic. We took one of Rosina's tours out to West End and West Bay and surrounding towns for the day. That was a great way to see that more tourist part of the island. Rosina and Sonny were always helpful in answering questions and providing suggestions during our stay. The first couple of days we hadn't yet rented the motor boat, but with the ocean at our front door, we had plenty to keep us entertained. We took advantage of the two local restaurants, Hole in the Wall and Trico's, that would come pick us up for dinner and bring us back when we were done. All other places visited were friendly and fun. The local cell phone Rosina provided with pre-programmed numbers, making local calls was easy. The stop by the market on our way to the cabin was thoughtful so we could stock up on needed supplies for meals. My husband enjoyed diving at the Reef House and we both enjoyed snorkeling at various stops during our exploration in the little motor boat. It was a very relaxing holiday and I would not hesitate to stay again should we get back to Roatan and would recommend the cabins to friends and family.

Delightful Hostess
Our hostess, Rosina, was simply a delight! Friendly, accommodating, and helpful; you could not ask for a better hostess. Flamingo cabin is adorable and strategically placed for a lovely sunrise. The cabin was outfitted with everything we needed, although a few beach towels would have been nice (you might want to pick some up on your way to the cabin). Because it is accessible only by boat, exploring on land can be a bit restricted. Rosina can provide tours and if you want to explore on you own, I suggest a rental car. The kayaks and small power boat available were great (we did a lot of exploring in the immediate area, traveling the mangrove tunnels frequently).
It would seem that ocean breezes cool the cabin most of the year. We were there at the beginning of the rainy season (although not much rain), when the winds basically come to a stop. We were thankful that there was air conditioning in the bedroom. By 8am and well into the night, the remainder of the cabin was a bit of a furnace.

Peaceful Paradise
My wife and I stayed at the Flamingo Cabin for a week. What a wonderful experience. So much so, we booked our next visit before we left. The cabin is located in a secluded bight (what the locals call an inland bay) in the South Central part of the island. The cabin is very clean and has everything you need. Only accessible by boat which really makes the experience fun, romantic, and secluded. Rosina takes care of your every need from the minute you arrive at the airport until she drops you off there at the end of your trip. She brings you to the store on the way to the cabin and helps you settle in. Anything we needed she took care of for us. Below are some of the things you should consider doing while there. 1) Rent a boat from Rosina. It's the best way to get around and explore the area. The price is more than reasonable. 2) Visit the local restaurants/hang outs. Hole in the Wall, Trico's, Reef House, BJ's on Friday night. 3) Do an island tour with Rosina. She knows everything about the island and can customize your tour based on what you want to see and do. There are many things to do such as visiting the more "touristy" west side, or you can go zip lining and visit some of the animal sanctuaries. 3) Book a fishing trip. Although you can catch fish from the dock and take your boat rental and fish on your own, Rosina can hook you up with a professional to take you fishing. Corey Thompson with Roaton Reel Addiction Charters is "Da Man!!" We caught Makeral, Barracuda, Snapper, several species of Jacks, etc.. What a vacation!!! Too much to write in a single review. My wife and I have vacationed all over the North America, Caribbean, Central America, including a wonderful trip to Belize. This is by far our favorite. Thank you Rosina for everything!! It was perfect!!!

Cute, clean and private
Cabin is accessible by boat only, which made for a fun and private adventure. Area has lots of birds to check out, a couple boat accessible restaurants and nice people living in the area. English is the island language, so that made everything easy for us. Cash is king on the island. Many places only except cash. They do take American dollars if you don’t want to exchange.
Hosts were wonderful.

Wonderful Family Getaway for a Month
If you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful ocean view, front porch sitting, cabin in the Roatan, the Flamingo or Mermaid is it. Sonny and Rosina are amazing VBRO hosts, the cabin was perfectly stocked with everyhing we needed, they took us Eldon's when we needed to go(there is a grocery right across the bay from the cabin), Rosina took us to the West End, and on an amazing excursion to Punta Gorda. The Jones family is wonderful all the way around, we traveled with our 6 year old son, we spoke with Mrs Rosina about a babysitter a for a few days and she allowed her awesome daughter, who was amazing with our Son and reasonably priced. We did rent a boat for the month while we were there, we went fishing, snorkeling, swimming, etc from the boat and dock located at the cabins. The Flamingo Cabin is in a great location for the Hole in the Wall, Trico Bar & Grill, Happy Landing (some of the best hot wings ever!), and the Reef House for some amazing diving! We did book an excursion with Mrs Rosina to go Zip lining and to the Animal park on the west end (the Animal Park had sloths, monkeys, parrots, and so many other animals, must do while you are there). Overall we highly recommend this cabin, we stayed for a month in the Flamingo and will be back next year!

My wife and I stayed at the Flamingo cabin from June 20-23, and this ranks as our best VRBO experience to date. The cabin owner, Rosina Jones, was born for hosting and goes the extra mile in everything she does (without being intrusive). This cabin is water access only though just a 2 minute boat ride from where you can park your car or call a cab. She was fully available to us to shuttle us back and forth as we required, but the cabin and views are so incredible, we suggest that you settle in and enjoy a few days in the vicinity of the cabin. (If you know how to drive a small boat, there is one available at the cabin for rent for $20 per day.) There are two restaurants nearby, Trico’s and Hole in the Wall, that will come and get you by boat and bring you back after happy hour or a meal. We preferred Trico’s (we recommend the lobster nachos) though Hole in the Wall is a fun place to see (see Trip Advisor for more info on Hole in the Wall).
The cabin is well stocked, including TP, paper towel, dish soap, bathroom soap/shampoo, washing detergent (for clothes washer) so it is really ready to go except for groceries. Rosina takes you to the grocery store in French Harbour on the way from airport/ferry, allowing you all the time you need. (As an aside, there is also a small shop located near the cabin; Rosina will drive you to if you forget some essential.)
The cabin is beautiful; its outstanding feature is the very large covered porch/deck with the 180 degree views! Sit back and enjoy the view and breezes! The cabin also comes with kayaks. One of the most fabulous outings we did on Roatan was kayaking through the mangroves near Flamingo cabin. We kayaked for 2 hours through the mangroves and around the bight. AWESOME!
Rosina also runs a tour business called Hillview Tours. We took advantage of that and booked an all-day tour of the island with her on our 2nd day. She is an “islander” with deep knowledge and fun facts about the island. I thought a full-day would be way too much and initially asked for ½ day, but as we finished up our half-day, we wanted more time and asked her to continue for the full day. It was a fabulous orientation to the island, and helped us to see and understand all of the nooks and crannies (and there are many). Based on our tour, we were able to better plan and prioritize our entire visit to Roatan.
