A beautifully converted barn that sits high above the Conwy Valley. With a south-western aspect, the property is ideally placed to make the most of the vast and uninterrupted views. The detached conversion lies off a farm track at the heart of the Bodnant Estate, with acres of woods and farmland to stroll through. The cottage is two fields away from the nearest country lane, and as guests at Bryn Mawr, you'll have access to over 20km of private paths to explore.
After a day spent exploring the landscape, this attractively renovated and furnished property is the ideal location to come home to. Decorated in a traditional yet modern style, the cottage has a real feeling of space, with a separate sitting room and open-plan kitchen and dining area. There's space enough for up to seven guests to stretch out and relax. With attractive touches like the hand-crafted staircase leading up to the split-level ground floor, the cottage is a real home from home.
For larger groups Bryn Rhydd, is available to book sleeping four guests is located next to Bryn Mawr and can also be booked, subject to availability.. Bryn Mawr is pure luxury in the most spectacular surrounds. The farmhouse itself has been beautifully restored, with tasteful furnishings and modern appliances, and is wonderfully cosy (that wood-burner!) whilst also feeling spacious and airy. There are beautiful views in every direction, but the view down over the Conwy Valley is mesmerising - the sort you could sit and gaze at for hours. And we did just that. It was bliss. The two patio areas make the most of this extraordinary vista, and I can only imagine how lovely it would be to enjoy a BBQ out there on a warm summer's evening. Holiday let kitchens can be a little hit and miss, but this one was fully stocked with a beautiful hamper of fresh food, a fridge full of goodies, and a large drawer with every kitchen utensil you could need. The hosts had thought of everything, including the baby gates and other things needed to make the place safe and comfortable for my toddler. The farm track access to the house, complete with three gates to open and close each time you pass (bring your wellies unless you want mud in your socks) is a little hairy, particularly in the dark, and you will absolutely need to check a map before you try to find the place for the first time, but these are small inconveniences and Bryn Mawr is well worth the effort. I honestly don't believe there is a better holiday cottage in North Wales :-)
