My partner and I stayed in the Ronciglione Torrioni, a real medieval fortress revived by the lady Francesca, her husband and son. From years of abandon, the family took great care to bring this massive and ancient fortress to life with care and attention to details, restoring original furnitures and fixings, while adding essentials for comfort. we stayed in the more 'original' of the two apartments, with beautiful vaulted ceilings and kitchen in the common area. The other apartment is more modern with more modern appliances. We were absolutely in love with the place. Comfortable, grand and cozy despite the fact that we were sleeping in a Fort - designed for soldiers. A beautiful view from the bedroom and bathroom of the surrounding town of Ronciglione, and a wishing well in courtyard. The experience is absolutely unique! Beautiful!
The host Francesca and her son Federico met us at the Fortress and gave us a tour and history of the place, as well as recommendations for places to eat snd visit. Both are absolutely delightful people, friendly, attentive, and quick to respond to any question. We are very grateful to them and for their hospitality. I will definitely return and I highly recommend it!
