Absolutely fabulous!
What an absolutely fabulous place to stay. I was looking for a place to take my boyfriend for his birthday and I came across this adorable and quaint Shepard’s hut. I booked it and we were not disappointed. Honestly it was so relaxing as it was very secluded and the owner was very friendly. We had neighbours in the other hut who were also lovely. We drove there and so we visited Lyme Regis, Chard and other places for walks. We loved the wood burner hot tub and we made pizzas in the pizza oven. The ambiance and coziness of the hut was lovely, it was warm and snuggly. We had lovely weather whilst we were there but I don’t doubt that even if it were raining it would be just as wonderful. (Bonus: the owner has two beautiful dogs that came and visited us and it made us very happy to play with them for a bit). I 10/10 would recommend this place to everyone! We will be returning!!

Perfect little getaway
Wow! Just wow! We had the most amazing few days away, staying in your luxury, hand crafted shepherds hut. It was everything we wanted and more, I could’ve easily stayed for a week. The beautifully and clever designed hut had everything you needed for a relaxing break inc a wonderfully hot shower, a lovely little dining area which cleverly converts into a surprisingly super comfortable sleeping area (I was personally blown away by the comfort of the bed) and a decent to rain induction hob so worrying about how to cook was never a problem. It was the extra attention to detail and facilities that set these huts apart, like the wood fired, hot tub that was set discreetly and privately to the side of the hut and the fire pit/woodfired pizza, oven to enjoy some alfresco dining. We were fortunate enough to have a beautiful weekend weatherwise however, the hot tub could totally still be enjoyed on a rainy evening under the starlit sky. It did cross my mind, whether staying in the huts during the winter months would be a chilly experience. However, I can confirm that with the wool insulated shepherds huts and their lovely, cute little log burner that it would never be a problem. It was so cosy and warm. We had the most relaxing few days away, where we just switched off from the daily grind of life, and if I’m really honest, I was sad to leave. We will definitely come back for another stay and have already recommended it to many other friends. Thank you for creating such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay. Ryan & Kylie xx

Amazing relaxing getaway
This was a really lovely place to stay and we would definitely come back, have already recommended it to others. The firepit/ pizza oven was fantastic for dinner and enjoying the evening around afterwards. The hot tub was wonderfully relaxing! The hut itself also had a beautiful little bathroom, so none of the downsides of traditional camping, and there was even a cooking hob in the kitchen, so we were never concerned about what would happen if it rained. No expense was spared when designing these cabins, every fine detail was beautifully designed. The bed was very comfortable and folds away with an ingenious weighted system making way for a lovely dining area. The whole thing was very solid you would never guess that either set up was temporary. The hosts where really lovely and very hospitable. This is the perfect place for a couple to unwind and get away from it all in luxury!

About the neighbourhood
Situated at the foot of the Blackdown Hills, near Ilminster, we are within easy reach of the Somerset Levels and Glastonbury, Dorset’s Jurassic Coast and Lyme Regis, Exmoor, Dartmoor and the North Devon Coast. On the Estate, why not explore with one of our guided walks by arrangement including campfire coffee or tea, ranging from 1km to 10km. Walk in woodland enjoying the bluebells in April/May or discover our Apple blossom/Cider trail around the orchards on the Estate in the Spring/Autumn. With plenty of hedgerows why not pick some blackberries to take home? Find the Walled garden on the site of the old Mansion House. Pick your way through the woods to find the old Chard Branch Line railway.
Getting around
Off the Estate there is plenty to do locally. The Somerset levels are easily accessible and great for cycling. The Blackdown Hills are visible from the window and offer more opportunity for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty via the 30km long Here Path Trail through Forestry Commission woodland. The Market Town of Ilminster is 2 miles away, with Market day each Thursday it also offers many independent shops including the award-winning butchers; Bonners. West country cheeses can be found at Silver Street Dairy and seasonal fruit and vegetables at Mike’s Greengrocers. Nearby in the village of Dowlish Wake is Perry’s Cider Mill. And near the village of Hambridge is the Somerset Cider Brandy Company and the Forrest and Brown
