Great weekend stay
We stayed at the Byeways with our friends, this is a lovely cottage, well equipped for everything you should need, the garden is beautiful and would be lovely to visit in the summer months, the location of the cottage is great to get out and about and explore the surrounding villages, I would recommend a visit to the village pub, The Red Lion, excellent menu choice.
When I arrived home I realised that I had left my watch in the bedroom, I contacted Donovan who was more than happy to return it to me.

Fabulous weekend in an enchanting home!
I spent 2 beautiful nights at Byeways Cottage with my family. While the strategic location makes easy to explore the nearby villages and natural beauties, the cosy and stylish interior hold you inside to relax and chill. Notwithstanding the cottage age, it has all the comforts to feel at home and I am looking forward to come back in spring/summer to enjoy its beautiful garden and explore more the surroundings.
Donovan is a great host and communication and support made my stay stress free.

Soggy!
We had a fab, fun weekend in this lovely thatched cottage, once we got to grips with the aga and the heating! Have to say I will never buy one but it was just about manageable for 2 dinners and a cooked breakfast.
The pots and pans were a bit minimal too....
The back garden could do with lighting as it was very dark trying to unload the car.It might be an idea to mention you need a torch especially as its quite a walk from the drive to the house.
The living room and upstairs rooms were lovely and cosy. Its a shame our bedroom downstairs was so damp smelling, its unfortunate it rained so much as I'm sure its lovely in summer and not a problem....
Apart from these grumbles, it was the perfect place to catch up with old friends. I would recommend it in summer!

I'm sorry you found the cottage not to your liking at this time of year and that you battled with the range cooker. Did you not find the timer in the cupboard alongside that you can Boost the cooker, water and heating as you need?
I looked at the bottom room to check for damp, and with the heating running is was warm and comfy. I know that Koia carpet has a slightly odd smell from the rubber base? I will keep an eye out for damp in this room in the future.
Yes me mentioning the need to bring a torch if arriving in the dark is a good idea, I thought I had in the welcome pack I emailed? I'll make sure it is going forward.

The Perfect Christmas Getaway
My family and I were lucky enough to spend Christmas at Byeways cottage in Long Compton and what a magical experience it was.
The beautiful, quaint little cottage has everything you need for a family get away. Every room has such character and charm, from the country style Kitchen with a big Aga to the cosy wooden bedrooms with wonky floor boards. The cottage is decorated very tastefully and makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time. If the weather was warmer, I’d have definitely tried out the camp fire which is in the picturesque garden.
We went for a Christmas morning walk with dog around Long Compton which is a stunning little Cotswold village with breathtaking scenery and an amazing church. There’s also plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas.
Our stay at the cottage made for a truly memorable Christmas, and I urge anyone who wants a break away from the bustle of every day life to escape to Byeways in Long Compton. You won’t want to leave!

Excellent house
Really lovely house that was perfect for our getaway. Arrival was very easy.
I would advise arriving when light as the driveway would be difficult to find in the dark.
All round it was perfect for our stay!!

Lovely holiday cottage
Had a fantastic time is this beautiful holiday cottage, with all the family. The beds were comfortable and we were all able to have decent sleep every night. The aga took a little getting used to however was fine to use. Plenty of space in the living room for all of us to relax at night time, we had a 2 year old who enjoyed all the films and games. Garden was lovely, unfortunately didn't always have the weather to enjoy it fully, looking to return in the summer months. The village was a perfect base to be able to explore and go off to difffenrt places around the Cotswolds. We even enjoyed a walk to Wichford woods with stunning views. Only one small niggle, was that we felt a little rushed out on day of departure, as the cleaning company turned up at 10am however we didn't have to leave until 11am so quickly had to pack up the cars, however did not ruin our experience.
Just a perfect get away for a family of different ages and our dogs. Thank you very much, hoping to book up again soon 😊

So sorry to hear the cleaning company arrived early, you should have chased them away as they have clear instructions only to arrive after 11am.
Please to come back again and I will make up the hour you lost on your return.
Kind regards

Idyllic thatch roof cottage
Byeways is a lovely little cottage in a great location for exploring the Cotswolds and the south Wiltshire area. We would visit again except my husband is a very light sleeper and found because there is no insulation in the floors, all sound travels through the house. And it is located on a busy-ish road at the front - which dies down at night and didn't bother me but may bother others. The back garden is lovely. The rooms very comfortable, everything very clean. If it weren't for my husband's light sleeping, we would return!

Beautiful cottage with a stunning garden!
There were 6 of us spending a couple of nights at this lovely cottage & it was absolutely perfect. Lovely & clean, warm & inviting & a perfect size, we had a great time sitting in the beautiful garden in the hot sunshine after a day at Warwick Castle.
Stocked with all the essentials you would need to cook or if you're like us & fancy a cosy village pub, there is a marvellous one only a 10 minute walk away. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Perfect cottage
Lovely cottage, perfect decor, fully equipped, wonderful garden.
Only downside is it is on a main road which is on a bend so a bit scary when coming out with dogs.
I would highly recommend this cottage and we will be returning soon.

Thanks Sheldon,
The road has been there for a very long time; I have seen a photograph of the same junction back when there were only horse and carts. I agree the front door is close to the road and as a result we generally cross over from the driveway that way you can see and hear any cars approaching.
We look forward to having you stay again.
