The finca
Situated in the Natural Park Sierra Norte, but at the same time within walking distance from the village (400m), you get the best of both worlds. Peace and quiet of nature without depending on a car for everything. The large garden with lots of green makes it a unique place and different from similar places.
The main house
The house has been decorated with care. It has a living room with a fireplace with beautiful views at the garden and the pool. The large kitchen is designed to make cooking a social event. You can of course also cook outside using the barbecue or the paella set.

Smaller children: the swimming pool is not fenced. The house has no specific safety measures for small children. Adequate supervision by an adult is needed. We have had many happy guests with small children!
Smoking is only allowed in the living room and the kitchen.
Groups: we do not accept groups of whom the majority of members are <25 years old at the start of the rental.

Marvelous place to rest, stroll around and go out for dining
We stayed in la Escribana for a week, with a group of approx 16. The house is perfectly equipped, mattresses top quality. Resting, strolling in the neighbourhood, visiting nice places , everything is possible. Lots of good restaurants at reasonable prices in the village.
We will be back !!

Ultra comfortable and peaceful
Beautiful surroundings.The house and its amenities are exactly as described on the website. We were there for a week with a large family party of 3 different generations and all had a great time. Everything, inside and out, was spotless. Lots of walks nearby and further away. There are restaurants, bars, supermarket, bakery etc. in the village as well as a ruined castle on top of the hill. Owners very helpful.

Wow, wat een geweldige plek!
Wow, wat een geweldig plek! We (gezin met 3 kinderen) hebben genoten van ons verblijf! Het huis is zeer ruim en met smaak gerenoveerd en ingericht. Door de enorm dikke muren blijft het huis ook bij erg warm weer heerlijk koel. In het huis zijn boven 3 grote slaapkamers en een badkamer met allemaal een geweldig uitzicht. Beneden is in een af te sluiten deel van het huis nog een slaapkamer met badkamer. De woonkamers en keuken zijn prachtig ingericht en schoon. Je voelt je meteen thuis. In het bijgebouw zijn nog 4 zelfstandige appartementen bij te huren. Ook allemaal goed ingericht, schoon en voorzien van alle gemakken.
De omliggende tuin is werkelijk idyllisch mooi. Een groene oase met zwembad, bomen en enorme grasvelden. De tuin is zo groot dat we er pas na een paar dagen achter kwamen dat er ook een vaste BBQ stond. De Hazelnoot-boomgaard buiten de omheining bleek er ook nog bij te horen en in de bosrand vonden de kinderen een boomhut! Wat een avontuur.
Het terrein heeft een ruime parkeerplaats en is afgesloten met een stalen hek. Na een paar honderd meter onverharde weg (geen 4x4 nodig) rij of loop je het centrum van Constantina al in. Dat bleek een hardstikke leuk plaatsje met veel winkels, barretjes en typisch Andalusische restaurantjes waar we elke avond voor een prikkie hebben gegeten tussen de Spanjaarden, want de rest van Europa heeft dit nog niet ontdekt!
We komen zeker terug!

Country life in Sierra Norte de Sevilla
We had a super 2 week stay at La Escribana in June. The house has lovely gardens, a swimming pool, games to play and plenty of space in the very well equipped kitchen for when all Seven bedrooms are occupied. The hiking during springtime in the cork oak forests of the Sierra Norte is wonderful and very scenic. We ate several times at the friendly local Fali II restaurant which has excellent tapas. The house is well located between Sevilla and Cordoba which can be easily visited by car or train service. The owner, Maarten, is helpful and responsive. Recommended for groups who want to chill out at the lovely house and wander the local countryside.

Wonderful, clean and quiet
We've rented the house to host some of our wedding guests. Their stay was marvellous. The house was clean, furnished with taste and super quiet. The garden is incredible and we had the chance to have a barbecue near the pool. Marteen is a wonderful host, he was available on the phone when we had questions and even asked somebody to come and help us when we were locked outside on sunday evening at 23h30. I gladly recommend La Escribana for a stay to visit Andalousia. Thanks again Marteen for everything.

BEAUTIFUL VILLA IN PARADISE.
This beautiful villa was absolutely fantastic, superbly appointed to a very high standard with many added extras. The gardens and pool area were immaculately maintained daily by the Owner's caretaker Manoli, his wife and son. The Owner was (always to hand) day and night to ensure your stay was trouble free, any questions or concerns were answered promptly. I personally cannot thank the Owner enough in arranging and meeting our every needs. The villa is in a tranquil, peaceful scenic setting surrounded by wonderful countryside and just a couple of minutes walk down to the very traditional Spanish speaking village of Constantina with it's array of friendly bars and restaurants. This villa is, without hesitation, highly recommended for a real taste of Spanish rural life. Could not be faulted in anyway.

A wonderful property for a family holiday
We spent 10 days in this beautiful property with family, to celebrate a birthday. We were 8 adults and 2 small children. The accommodation is excellent. The main house has been tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished and offered everything we needed. The additional building, with the 4 en suite bedrooms, was perfect for couples. It was all set in attractive, well-maintained grounds and the pool & loungers must be perfect in the warmer months. The owner, Maarten, was always helpful and friendly. At his suggestion, he put us in touch with a local chef, Daniel, who came one evening (with his daughter) to prepare a celebratory meal for us. It was wonderful and proved to be a highlight of our visit. We travelled a lot during our 10 days - there is so much to see in this beautiful part of Spain. Seville & Cordoba (including the Game of Throwns castle) are within easy reach. We also drove to Granada (to the Alhambra) but stayed overnight as it is quite a distance. We would highly recommend it.

Inmejorable
Realmente inmejorable. Aparte de la belleza de la casa en su exterior y entorno, por dentro es aún mas impresionante que lo que muestra las fotos. El cuidado hasta el mas mínimo detalle es sorprendente, el gusto en la decoración, la limpieza de todas y cada una de las estancias, de la ropa de casa, el equipamiento de la cocina, la comodidad de las camas, la amplitud... He estado en otras casas que también estaban muy bien, pero ésta es hasta la fecha insuperable.

Paraíso en la Sierra de Sevilla
Lugar impresionante para desconectar en plena naturaleza muy cerca de Sevilla y con un microclima que lo convierte en un lugar paradisiaco.
Además el trato dispensado lo convierte en un lugar paradisiaco.

About the neighbourhood
The central section of the immense Sierra Morena is made up of the Sierra Norte Natural Park, a landscape of gently rolling hills clad in dense evergreen oaks. Few foreign tourists make it up here, although it's popular with Sevillanos who travel the 90km north from the city at weekends and holidays. It is one of Andalucia's largest protected areas, covering over 175000 hectares.
Getting around
The house is within walking distance from the village (about 500m). For greater comfort we do however recommend a car for shopping, day trips etc. Buses go from the village centre to Sevilla several times a day. The Constantina-Cazalla train station is 12km away.
