4 ans ce sont passés depuis notre dernier séjour au Tibalou. Nous avons retrouvé le même état d'esprit des propriétaires, le même accueil personnalisé et chaleureux. La décoration est encore plus soignée. Nous avions oublié combien la vue depuis le salon était belle. Nous avons pris grand plaisir à prendre nos apéritif sur la terrasse pour apprécier les couchers de soleil. La petite tonnelle, le restaurant du village a eu le privilège de nous accueillir un soir sur 2. Ce village est vraiment beau. Nous recommandons la visite de la forteresse et aussi les gabarres mais encore les jardins de Marqueyssac et puis la visite guidée de Sarlat le lundi matin.

Me and my friend stayed at La Barde Montfort for a duration of one week. We absolutely enjoyed every moments thanks to the owners, Frederic and Pascal who were so friendly and nice to us! The place was clean, beautiful and perfect for us. They helped us choosing activities such as tree climbing, castles visits, wine tasting. We had the pleasure to discover amazing restaurants in the area with breathtaking views. We also enjoyed every breakfast at La Barde (especially the fresh eggs from the farm) :) We sure will be back !

Wir sind gerade von unserem Urlaub zuruckgekehrt und vermissen bereits die Aussicht. Was fur ein Vergnugen, den Fluss von jedem Zimmer aus zu sehen, jeden Abend unseren Aperitif auf der Terrasse zu trinken und die Montgolfirees zu sehen. Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Vielen Dank auch fur die Qualitat Ihres Wilkommens und alle Ideen und Vorschlagen fur die Besuche und Restaurants.

C’est un endroit merveilleux où il fait bon vivre. Chaque fenêtre donne sur la Dordogne où l’on peut voir les canoës et la nature. Au cœur de Beynac cette belle maison de pierre offre un Rez de chaussée spacieux. Les murs de pierre apparants , le parquet en bois, les poutres lui donnent tout son charme. Il y a tout ce qu il faut , c est pratique. Martine qui nous a reçu est très gentille et disponible. Frederique à distance nous a indiqué de bons restos. Venez y , vous serez ravis.

Great place to stay- right below an historic castle- easy access to grocery, bakery, restaurants. The hosts are responsive and friendly.

Tibalou is just a brilliant place, full of character on the winding cobbled lane leading up to the magnificent medieval chateau. The view out over the Dordogne river is breathtaking - each evening we watched the hot air balloons from the terrace drifting low over the river only a few hundred metres away. The cottage has all the facilities you might need, including a washing machine and dishwasher. There is plenty of space downstairs and the kitchen is very well equipped. Beynac is a lovely little town, with the Chateau as it's main attraction. There are also boat trips on the river and canoes and kayaks to hire (gliding serenely down the river in a canoe or kayak just has to be experienced). There are plenty of other beautiful historic towns, chateaux and gardens nearby - Marqueyssac in particular is not to be missed. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts Frederique and Martine, who did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We would not hesitate to return to Tibalou. One thing I should mention - the cobbled lane up from the main street is quite steep and it's not possible to drive up to the cottage, so suitcases have to be wheeled or carried up the hill - it's not too far, but if your cases are very big and heavy it could be a bit of a struggle. Don't let this put you off - Tibalou is worth the effort!

If you are planning a visit to the Dordogne Valley this is the place to stay and Frédérique and Martine are amazing! The house is lovely and comfortable with an amazing location. Sitting on the patio with a view of the river is truly magical! Beynac-et-Cazenac is the perfect spot to explore from. Due to car problems we were delayed and had to keep changing our arrival time. Frédérique and Martine and Blanche were amazing with their flexibility to greet us upon arrival. We are so grateful for their assistance in making our stay a fabulous time. Upon arrival which was late the restaurant was closed but with Blanche’s assistance we were able to get four gras and salad to go which was lovely to eat at the house! Marvelous Martine stopped by most mornings to insure all was good and made our reservation for canoeing. Thank you all for the best week in the Dordogne!

We had the pleasure of staying at this property over the Easter period 2019 for 5 nights. Although we arrived a lot later at night than planned due to flight misery, Frederique the owner arranged for someone to meet us in the village and show us to the house. We were delighted with the property which is very traditional outside and in, together with all the modern amenities. The property is perched on a steep road with truly glorious views of the river both left to right from all of the windows on both floors and from the delightful courtyard area. It was 20C plus when we visited and we were grateful for the cool of the property. The furniture is traditional and in keeping. There is an abundance of cooking utensils and crockery etc. The owners have thought of everything. Our son who at the time was 2 and a half had a wonderful time in a very safe environment. The internal stairs are steep but perfectly safe subject to supervision. There is a cot if needed. You are a short walk to pleasant restaurants, in particular La Petite Tonnelle and the local Tabac called Le Bo Bar is very nice but a traditional tabac. Locally there is a very good mini market, two bakeries ( I would recommend the one at the other end of the village) and a very nice wine shop, amongst others. The village in my view is as pretty as La Roque-Gageac (a short drive away) but without the heavy tourist feel and volume of tourists. Last but far from least we found Frederique and Martine (whom we met whilst we were at the property) to be wonderful hosts and so helpful throughout the booking process and throughout our stay. Martine was really kind to our son. We would whole heartedly recommend this property and its owners. We have booked to return next year.

Le gîte est magnifique, typique et décoré avec soins, super bien équipé. La vue de la terrasse est magnifique, spécialement au coucher du soleil. Superbe région, je recommande vivement.

Petite maison au coeur d'un plus beau village français, surprenante par sa décoration des plus soignée et moderne avec un intérieur typique des maisons de Dordogne, pieeres, poutres, tout un ensemble qui fait que cette maison est un véritable havre de paix. Hâte d'y revenir
