A perfect location to explore an area rich in beautiful scenery and steeped in history from mountains to coast. In this well appointed restored older property you will find all the comforts of home. It is set over three floors fitted and decorated with an eclectic mix of the traditional and contemporary. Large enough to comfortably accommodate 6 guests yet not too large to overwhelm a couple seeking a get away. This house was originally designed as a principle home, making it an ideal rentable property for those wishing to experience life in ‘La Belle France’ for a longer period of time. Special rates apply for rentals of 1 - 3 months. Please contact us directly for details. Entrance through the front door to a spacious entrance hall with adequate storage for any sporting guests to safely store bicycles, walking boots etc. Stairs from entrance hall to light and airy first floor open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge. French doors lead off the kitchen area to a small private terrace, perfect for relaxing and sampling the local wine (you will find your first bottle in the fridge). A small study is also located on this floor. The family bathroom and three double bedrooms are all situated on the second floor, one with ensuite, one with small private terrace. We recommend, therefore, that sadly this property is not suitable for disabled guests or toddlers. Quillan offers a large selection of cafes and restaurants all just a stroll away. The railway/bus station is only a 5 minute walk, giving the opportunity to travel to Carcassonne, Perpignan and beyond for just a euro each way. Perfect for those choosing not to hire a car. Markets selling fresh and local artisanal produce are held throughout the year on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. During the months of July and August enjoy a wide and varied selection of free entertainment covering all genres of music and culture. There is a public swimming pool in the centre and we can now boast our own bathing lake set within a beautiful park on the outskirts of town offering many open air activities during the summer season. A comprehensive information pack can be found in the property to ensure you get the most out of your stay in this beautiful area, be it white water rafting, wine tasting, delving into the history of the Cathars, catching sight of the ‘Tour de France’ or relaxing by the lake or river with a good book, you may just find a good read on our bookshelf. We recommend a visit to the local tourist office who will have details of all the very latest ‘what’s on’, directions can be found in the information pack. Our property manager Debbie or ourselves will be here to welcome you and be on hand throughout your stay to offer any further information should you require. More

About the neighbourhood
QUILLAN, AUDE Aude district, is reknowned for its 300 days per year sun and vine yards. Quillan, is located on the banks of the river Aude, a small and charming town that serves as a base for people exploring the deep and enchanting forests of the Pyrenees along with the captivating castles of the Cathars. The town has its own rather unusual castle. The perfectly square fortifications were built in the 1280’s and are now largely ruins. What makes Quillan such an alluring destination is it’s absorbing surroundings. Numerous adventurous activities such as horse riding, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, hiking, climbing and cycling, are catered for among the rocky mountains, deep gorges and dark caves of the Upper Aude Valley.
Getting around
It is easiest to visit the vineyards, castles and other small towns be car. there are buses to major stops such as Carcassonne, Perpignan, Narbonne and Toulouse
