About Glebe Cottage: The delightful slate-floored living area has a wood-burning stove inside the old stone fireplace where crackling timbers will warm you on even the coolest evenings once you return from your day on the beach, cycling the Tarka Trail or being creative in the pottery studio. A couple of stone steps take you into the kitchen/dining area where you will find all you will need for a comfortable stay. Upstairs you will find the bathroom and two bedrooms, a double and a twin. We provide enough bedding and towels for the length of your stay. Whether you are with us for one or two weeks or just decide to treat yourselves to a few days away, you can be sure of a warm welcome. We love dogs and we have plenty of interesting local walks to enjoy. Our ponies, alpacas, sheep, cats, poultry and Roxie, our border collie, are also waiting to meet you. Things to do nearby: • Throw a pot on the wheel or make a plaque at our onsite pottery studio, Tarka Pottery. • Visit RHS Gardens - with lots of activities and events taking place, it's a fabulous place to visit for adults and children, any time of the year. • Cycle the Tarka Trail - you could begin and return to The Puffing Billy where you can hire bikes and have lunch. • Go to the beach - Westward Ho! is a well-known local beach about 20 minutes' drive away and we often take our border collie, Roxie, to Instow Beach for a dog walk about 15 minutes' drive. • Meeth Quarry Nature Reserve is a 20-minute drive away. Great Torrington is our local town, a 5-minute drive, with a pannier market and a few shops including a butchers, bakery, cafes, pubs and an M&S convenience store. There's also an electric charging point in town and public commons with a small car boot during the summer. TARKA POTTERY onsite is an interactive pottery studio, where Jax will teach you how to throw on a potters wheel or you can join in a clay workshop or paint pottery. We offer pottery activities to suit all ages - just ask.More

Such a homely cottage, perfect for an autumn or winter break oozing character with a wood burner in the heart of the home! Everything you need. We enjoyed the two day pottery course too only next door!

Such a warm cosy cottage. So quite and peaceful. Could of happily moved in and called it home. The fire place is beautiful, and almost wished it was a cold winter day just so I could curl up and roast my toes. There was four adults and it was very comfortable for all of us. We had a great long weekend there and would definatly recommend it for a cosy stay.

Glebe Cottage will suit a family with two children. It is located near the Tarka trail and within reach of many interesting spots such as Clovelly, Watersmeet, Finch's Foundry, and Castle Drago. The cottage is roomy downstairs and well equipped. There is a TV which we did not use, and WiFi. As is common with cottages the stairs are narrow and steep, large heavy luggage may be better left downstairs. The bedrooms are quiet and the beds comfortable. The owners, who live in the other leg of the L, keep Shetland ponies and alpacas and run the Tarka Pottery next door. Look up the pottery website, it could form a memorable part of your stay.

The cottage, located minutes drive from RHS Rosemore, is in a picturesque part of Devon with gorgeous views from the back garden over to Torrington. Located in Little Torrington, the cottage is on a very quiet road (although I would recommend backing your vehicle into the driveway for safety). The cottage includes bath with electric shower. The kitchen has a microwave as well as the usual cooker. WiFi is good, but mobile reception is patchy. We had a lovely weekend break and would book again. Mike and Liz

Booked this cottage on way to Cornwall, we wanted to visit Rosemoor Gardens so thought we'de stop off at Glebe Cottage. Nice cottage comfortable, quiet slept well loved the animals only problem we had was my husband is quiet tall and had to duck as ceiling are a little low. So near the gardens we managed to have two visit before we made our way to Cornwall.

We were lucky to have the opportunity to spend a few days in Glebe Cottage, Torington. The cottage was clean, tidy, with everything you need for a weekend away, plus fresh eggs for breakfast, our hosts were helpful and friendly, with ideas and suggestions for places to eat and visit. The bedrooms were roomy, beds comfortable and warm, best night sleep we had had for ages. All equipment in kitchen was clean tidy and in full working order, bathroom had a full working shower and bath, with towels provided. We also had the chance to go to the pottery and throw a few pots with Jax our teacher, it was 2.5 hours of total concentration and not thinking about anything but the here and now. A throughly relaxing weekend, thank you so much, Paul and Zoe.

We spent the weekend at this lovely cottage with our two girls (6&3) and our dog. It was lovely and clean and had everything we needed for a short stay and the milk and fresh eggs on arrival were appreciated. The gorgeous views and farms animals were enjoyed by all and the owners were very welcoming, even allowing the children to feed and pet the alpacas. We slept well in the very comfy beds and loved being woken to the sounds of the sheep outside!

Glebe Cottage has all you could ever want for a holiday in Devon. Jax and David are very welcoming and friendly. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Word of warning if you are a cyclist take your climbing legs as it is a very hilly County 😂⛰ but worth the effort. Croyde beach is about 40 minutes drive but worth it as it's stunning and has a lovely sandy beach. Thanks for making our break a good one. Andy

Lovely spacious cottage with lovely views and animals to feed. Our 2 girls had a great time. The hosts were very helpful and we had milk and fresh eggs in the fridge when we arrived. The cottage has all the utensils and 'bits' like washing line, pegs, cling film etc which come in handy and you usually forget to bring. We also made use of the Tarka Pottery onsite and really enjoyed it. We also visited RHS Rosemoor which is minutes away. We would definitely return.
