Welcome to Cascina Gallo Orsi, your home away from home;
Whether you are seeking a peaceful retreat, or you wish to explore the Piedmont wine country you will find that our B&B will provide you with the best possible home base.
Our, recently renovated, farmhouse is in the historic hill top village of Calamandrana Alta, in Asti Province in North-west Italy.
Our house affords spectacular views of the surrounding hills clothed in their colourful mosaic of vineyards, orchards, hazelnut groves and woods.
In our house and on our land we endeavor only to use organic & nontoxic products.
We make our jams and other preserves from the produce of our organic orchard and kitchen & herb gardens. Our land, which comprises for the most part, woods and orchards, is quiet and peaceful, offering you an op...

Beautiful Location, Charming B
We spent a weekend at this B&B.; Fabulous location beautiful views of the mountains. The owners, Canan and Umberto, were the perfect hosts. The combination of the food, the service, the accommodations, and their company was perfect. If you love country settings, staying at this B&B; is like a dream.

Piedmontese-Turkish hospitality and cuisine at its best!
My partner and I spent 5 days last august at this lovely bed and breakfast. We had a fabulous time. We were welcomed with yummy homemade jam, cookies and a delicious Turkish tea. The breakfast was simply amazing. Every detail was thought of! Canan and Umberto were such gracious hosts, and were so well informed to activities, restaurants and wine producers in the area...and if you are bored of the countryside, Milan, Turin or the beautiful beaches of Liguria or the French Riviera are within a couple of hours drive.
Best breakfast we have ever had at a b&b; in an exquisite dining room. Freshly renovated property with a wonderful view at 360 over hills and vineyards. We were assigned a huge and quiet room overlooking the garden and beautifully decorated. Wonderful experience chatting with our hosts in a gorgeous countryside setting. We could not have asked for more. I guess it's time to come back for another Turkish tea!

Fabulous B&B; in the Mountains
A very large beautiful insuite room with terrific bed. In a lovely renovated farmhouse. With incredible views of mountains and vineyard as far as you can see. And the host Canan and Unnberto are wonderful kind people..

PIECE OF HEAVEN
Gorgeous Piemonte hillside view, Very new and clean rooms.
Ecologic farm area with great people and neighbors.
Great peacuful place to getaway from the cities, only 50 minutes by car from Torino airport.

Best B&B we have ever stayed at
Some places are as much about the people as about the place. Cascina Gallo Orsi is one of them. Canan and Umberto are the most gracious, kind hearted hosts we have ever had the pleasure of staying with.
The house is just beautiful, warm and comfortable. It has been lovingly restored into a delightful home. The photos do not do it justice.
Lovely comfy bed, delicious food and every bit of local advice you could ever need.
You MUST stay here if travelling in Piedmonte.
I wish there were more than 5 stars.

About the neighbourhood
The region around Calamandrana Alta offers a wealth of options from enjoying the picturesque landscapes and historical landmarks, to visiting the many museums. Hiking on foot, cycling and horse riding tours are also available for the more adventurous. There are well marked hiking paths throughout the region, and some can be reached within walking distance from our home. Within a short drive you can reach the ancient towns of Asti, Acqui Terme and Alba while the regional capital of Turin is also within easy reach.
The region offers excellent wines and the delicious specialty foods. For wine enthusiasts the wine producing towns of Nizza Monferrato & Canelli are within five minutes drive while other famous wine producers specializing in the Barolo, Barbaresco, Moscato D'Asti, Ruche and other varieties are located less than half an hours drive away.
For those yearning for the sea the beautiful beaches of the Ligurian coast are just an hour’s drive away with the historic port town of Genoa (1hr 45), the enchanting fishing village of Portofino (2hr 20”) and the rugged cliffs of UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Cinque Terre National Park a (2hr 40”) are also accessible for day trips.
