25 Porters Gate is a beautiful three bedroom house with its own private pool, located on the West coast of Barbados, location is key to a wonderful holiday in Barbados. With the current Covid quarantine requirements guests can self quarantine at Nanpa because it is government approved as per the Barbados travel protocols. Please contact the owner for a full briefing on the Covid protocols and how you can easily travel to Barbados. 25 Porters Gate is located just one mile North of Holetown, very close to all of the superb west coast beaches. The house is a good size, plenty of room for six adults, all bedroom are en-suite and air-conditioned with plenty of wardrobe space, two rooms have double beds, one room has two single beds. Downstairs you have a large open plan area that has recently been updated, decorated and re fitted with new furniture, cable TV and the essential WiFi Internet is included. All you need do is book the accommodation and load the fridge with Banks beer and away you go! Electricity Please note that in addition to the cost quoted by Tripadvisor there is also a charge for electricity usage. I have had to introduce this charge because I have had huge electricity bills because guests had regularly gone out for the day and left the air conditioning running with windows open. Air conditioning is the main way that guests use electricity, the only way l could be sure air-conditioning is used correctly was to introduce a sensible method of “pay as you go”. This is how the system works. On arrival the guests take a note of the meter reading (photo with smart phone usually) and email this to me. (Free WiFi in the house). On departure take second reading and send me this reading as well. Guests then pay £35 per 100 units used. This is totally non profit, it is purely you, the guest paying for what electricity you use. The reading is taken from the digital meter which is on the outside wall of the house. This fee is between myself and the guest, Tripadvisor don’t really have an option to add this cost. So.... upon booking and payment of your Tripadvisor deposit I request a second deposit for electricity usage. This is at a rate of £150 per week, payable direct to me via cheque, PayPal or bank transfer.. On return and on receipt of the start and end meter readings I then calculate amount of electricity used. To give you an example of cost, Karen and I stayed at the house in August last year for three weeks, we had two friends with us so a total of four adults in the house. Total cost of what we used over three weeks for four adults was just £150. Any questions at all with regards to this detail please contact us. It is entirely non profit it is just a requirement to prevent the huge bills incurred in the past. Finally..... Shared economy levy tax. Not good news I am afraid. Please have a read through the link below and you should get the basic idea. In a nutshell the Barbados government are now imposing a whopping 10% tax on all rentals. It is known as the Shared Economy Levy.... google it! Basically it is a room tax imposed by the Barbados government. Obviously this is something completely out of my control and the Barbados government has imposed this tax on all holiday rentals. Very annoying to say the least. This adds 10% to the cost of your holiday and I have the pleasure of been an unpaid tax collector on behalf of the Bajan government, with strict time frames and penalties for late payments. For example, if I don’t inform my guests about this tax I can be fined £5000! I propose a system whereby all guests pay this 10% tax two months before arrival and I will contact you then with payment details, I will then pay this tax on your behalf. The owner asks guests to be considerate when using the air conditioning, there is a charge if £70 per week to cover usage. Electric costs in Barbados are a great deal more than in the UK. Sounds obvious but don’t use air conditioner with windows open and then pop out to the beach for the day....it’s been done and I have had electric bill of over £1000 a month! So....all I ask is be sensitive with your air conditioning use. Thank you.

We rented this villa for my 60th birthday trip and I could not have made a better choice! The villa and setting are absolutely beautiful! We felt so comfortable and at home right away. It was warm, cozy, and inviting. Everything we needed was there...More

We’ve stayed numerous times at Nanpa. Spacious, comfortable and a great location. We always stay when taking holiday in Barbados. Looking forward to our next stay.
