La Grange is the perfect place for relaxed family holidays away from the madding crowds but readily accessible to beautiful mediaeval towns and villages, caves, castles, kayaks and restaurants. The countryside of the Lot/Dordogne border has everything you could want. Enjoy wine tasting and great food amongst the vinyards along the River Lot. Kayak or canoe along the Dordogne. Visit the breathtaking sites of Rocamadour and Domme. Feast your eyes at the weekly market in Souillac. Explore the Caves at Padirac by boat on an underground river or take a trip back in time to the prehistoric cave paintings at Lascaux and Pech Merle. Marvel at the topiary in the gardens at Marquessac and Eyrignac. Travel on the restored narrow guage railway at Martel. Visit the local Chateau Fenalon which is georgeous! Perfect

Absolutely superb facility in wonderful surroundings. Brilliant pool, lovely outdoor dining space, great kitchen facilities and super lounge space. We occupied 4 of the rooms, all en-suite. Lots to do within in a short drive or simply chill by the pool. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Beautiful house, clean, well maintained, stunning views and peaceful surroundings

Gorgeous house with all the necessary kit for a child friendly holiday. Lovely pool. Lots to do in the surrounding areas, can recommend the caves and Dino park outside Rocamadour. Great play park in Gourdon. Nice restaurants and well stocked supermarket.

Excellent place to stay

Amazing House and grounds

About the neighbourhood
There are beautiful walking tracks and country roads on the doorstep. It is a short car journey to the Dordogne river with canoes and kayaks for a gentle trip down river between dramatic limestone cliffs and past fairy-tale castles. The mediaeval towns of Rocamadour, Sarlat, La Roque-Gageac, Martel, Souillac and Gourdon are all close by. There are pre-historic caves and cave paintings, underground river trips in the caves at Padirac and a scenic steam railway at Martel. There are very local lakes with beaches for children to play.The local farmer's markets are a must to visit. The local Chateau Fenelon offers magnificent views and is full of the most beautiful antique furnishings. The area also boast two Michelin starred restaurants!
Getting around
The nearest airports are Limoges and Toulouse, both about 1.5 hours away (mostly on autoroute) and Brive-Souillac 30 mins away. There is also a train from Paris to Gourdon, the nearest town about 10km away. Guests need a car as the area is rural and the tourist attractions are not accessible by public transport.
