Holiday Rental House
The Cottage; lovingly restored and a fabulous rural retreat. Nestled in the stunning Carmarthenshire countryside, there are plenty of family-friendly activities nearby and both coasts are easily accessible. The well equipped cottage has underfloor heating, a woodburning stove (logs available for sale on site) a 'farmhouse' kitchen and private garden. * Outside our fabulous wood fired hot tub is available for hire at an extra charge. Well behaved dogs welcome - please read dog rules. Please read the description and house rules carefully. We work hard to provide a high standard of accommodation at a competitive price and prefer to offer a low base price with add on extras, which you only pay for if you would like them. These include the hot tub, bringing a dog, an extended tour of the farm....The Cottage; lovingly restored and a fabulous rural retreat. We work hard to provide a high standard of accommodation at a competitive price and prefer to offer a low base price with add on extras, which you only pay for if you would like them. These include the hot tub, bringing a dog, an extended tour of the farm. The cottage is on our small family farm; run on Organic, pesticide free principles, nestled in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. We raise a variety of rare breed animals, producing the very finest quality meat and alpaca wool. Although the farm feels very tucked away, it is easily accessible. The cottage has been carefully renovated using lime, and other sustainable building materials. We have installed high tech heating and hot water that is super eco friendly and reliable. No matter what time of year you stay it will be cosy: as well as underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, there is an optional woodburner. The whole cottage is well equipped with a fantastic 'farmhouse' kitchen including Welsh slate worktops, antique Welsh dresser, a belfast sink, Neff dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, Bosch fan oven, coffee maker and Miele washing machine. Upstairs the 2 bedrooms have beautiful views, radiators, waxed wooden floors and comfortable beds. The romantic master bedroom has a period fireplace, brass bed with luxury wool duvet and feather pillows - we've had lots of guests remark on what a wonderful night's sleep they've enjoyed! The bunk bed room has been carefully planned as a children's space, with a great collection of kids books, and has a built in cupboard with hanging space and drawers. There is a sofa bed in the open plan living space downstairs, so the cottage can comfortably accommodate a family or 2 couples. Please note that the bunk beds are intended for children's use only. You may if you like book and have 6 people stay (absolutely no more than 4 adults please) but be aware that it might be a bit 'snug'. The bathroom upstairs has a bath with Mira thermostatic shower over, with glass shower screen. There is a heated towel radiator and we supply luxury Egyptian cotton towels. For that extra touch of luxury why not treat yourself to exclusive use of our fabulous wood fired hot tub; no better way to unwind under starry skies, at £65 for two consecutive evenings, including beach towels. We'll light it and show you how to add fuel and look after the hot tub so that you can get it to your desired temperature, and enjoy the experience of adding fuel to the cracking fire! Other provisions include TV with Freesat, DVD player and Amazon Fire Stick, BBQ, games barn with table tennis, travel cot, highchair and selection of books, games and DVD's. The skies here are perfect for stargazing as we have very little light pollution. We have lots of birds to watch and there are quiet roads and plenty of countryside walks. We actively encourage wildlife, have re-established wildflower meadows and planted over 3000 native trees. As a result we frequently see Sparrow Hawks, Red Kites, Buzzards, and visiting Barn Owls, to name but a few! Guests can access the river, at the bottom of the field -which is fun to splash around in, or a great place for a picnic. However if you're quiet you might even spot the Kingfisher? Newcastle Emlyn and St Clears are both within easy reach for shopping and some fantastic restaurants and we sell eggs and 'the best meat we've ever eaten', according to some of our guests. If you would like a 'farm tour' we're happy to show you round and introduce you to our rare breed farm animals. There is a pub in Trelech (2 miles) If you would like one of our very popular premier quality welcome hampers, birthday cake or loaf of homemade bread, then please ask for details! On arrival you'll find that the comfy beds have been freshly made; a small welcome supply of tea and coffee, a new dishcloth, washing up liquid, liquid soap and first toilet roll are all provided. Please note that depending on your mobile phone network coverage, you may not get a signal in the cottage. There is WIFI in the cottage. The hot tub is for hire for a minimum of 2 nights. We light the hot tub and explain how to fuel it; although we prioritise this, there may, very rarely, be times when we will be unable to make the hot tub available. If hiring the tub for a specific night is critical to your stay please check with us before booking to avoid disappointment.More

My partner, daughter and I had a fantastic weekend stay at the Cottage Rhydnebwen Farm. Gorgeous cottage, beautiful surroundings and perfect hosts. Would thoroughly recommend. We enjoyed it so much we are booking again for next year, but for a week this time.

About the neighbourhood
For day to day shopping you can't go wrong with Newcastle Emlyn to the north, jam packed with small independant shops and cafes. To the south is St Clears with a supermarket and art centre and we are only a 20 minute drive from Carmarthen. There is plenty to explore nearby; some of our favourite spots include Fynnone woods with it's dramatic waterfall and Tenby, Llanstaffan, Laugharne and Llangrannog for their beaches and castles. For those looking for adventure Oakwood adventure park is a short drive away, as are Anna's Zoo and Blue Lagoon water park. For a spot of culture (aside from any of Wales' 600+ castles!) we are within easy reach of the National Botanic Gardens, Dylan Thomas' boat house and the Gwili Valley Steam railway.
Getting around
Carmarthen is the nearest train station. There is a limited bus service (route no. 225) on the main road, which is then a short walk downhill to the farm. For those using cars, there is ample parking on the farm. Bikes can be stored under cover in the games barn.
