Kilcoe Cottage is a five star, spacious, luxurious, self catering holiday home away from home in a peaceful location just 3 miles east of the quaint village of Ballydehob and seven miles west of the bustling market town of Skibbereen. Sitting adjacent to our 1850s farmhouse on nearly two acres it has glorious rural views which are interspersed with glimpses of Roaring Water Bay, especially from the Hot Tub.
With the Mizen Head (Irelands southernmost point) and Lough Hyne (nature reserve and tidal lake) within easy driving distance and the fishing villages of Schull and Baltimore just a stones throw away there are a myriad of things to see and do. West Cork is famous for its food and hospitality.

There are numerous pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from or if you prefer to eat in, catering is available here at the cottage on request...

The house is on three levels, living area downstairs, master half a flight up and the other bedroom half a flight up again. Both double beds are 6ft pillowtop split super-kings and can be used as four singles. The sofa bed is a full sized single and is in the second bedroom (we do have a second sofa bed if required) The bedrooms are each about 350 sq ft and the bathrooms are very spacious.
The seating area has really comfortable couches including a corner unit with chaise for your feet. There is a Seseo coffee machine, (sachets provided) and we provide a welcome basket with all the basic essentials and a few treats. All linens are Egyptian cotton, there are two bath towels for each person, hand towels and bathmats in every bathroom, towels for the hot tub and spares just in case. There is...

Heating is charged at the standard market rate per unit (allow 12-16 euro per day depending on usage). Electricity, rubbish and recycling, linens and towels, end of stay cleaning and welcome basket are included in the price. Christmas, mid-term and easter weeks will be charged at mid season rates. Please call us as we do have special offers and deals at various times.Rental is Saturday to Saturday in summer and flexible at other times. There is a three night minimum booking requirement.

About the neighbourhood
Kilcoe is a small peninsula with Kilcoe Castle at the Southernmost end, famous for it's owner and it's colour. And he is not the only one, there are painters, writers sculpters and music moguls too. Bound by two rivers on it's East and West sides one runs in at Roaring Water Pier and the other at Poul Gorm (gaelic for Blue Hole). A small cove with a pebble beach is a ten minute walk.
Ballydehob (Beal an dha hab, gaelic for the meeting at the mouth of two rivers) is an old sandboat port, where they used to bring sand ashore from the islands for farming. It is famous for it's twelve arch bridge. A quaint colourful village with equally colourful residents. By Road:
From Cork City take the N71 west through Innishannon, Bandon, Clonakilty, Rosscarbery, Leap and Skibbereen. Remaining on the N71 go in the direction of Schull, Ballydehob, Killarney. Seven miles/ten km out you will see a church on your left then a closed down pub called the cross house on your right. Take the next left turn and we are the second house up on the right.
From Ballydehob, go 3 miles/5km east and take the second turn marked Kilcoe to the right.
By Air:
Cork airport is an easy hour and twenty minute drive. Check www.corkairport.ie Go into flight information and press 'search for flights'. If you put in your home airport you will see flights to Cork in the return portion. Discount airlines: Ryanair, Aer Lingus, Jet2.com, airsouthwest.com and Wizz.
