Casa Holly is a modern well equipped, well designed house. The impressive high vaulted ceiling in the main living area creates a very open environment - the entire house is spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms have high pressure pumped water for invigorating showers also a large bath in the main bathroom for full relaxation. The house has an alarm system which is connected to a control centre 24/7 who are available to respond in english in case of an emergency. The house is fully air conditioned. The main bedroom has air conditioning and an ensuite shower room. The second and third bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. Exterior As well as the pool and terrace we have another main terrace which has the spa with astonishing views of Comares and the surrounding hillsides - also here we have the eating area with an external kitchen with gas barbecue and paella gas ring. For sun worshippers, we have our sun terrace above the main terrace which has a 300 degree view and has to be seen to be appreciated. The house itself is situated in an acre of land which is great for exploring (maybe for the kids). We have a large driveway which has plenty of space for cars and is also possible to park directly outside the front door for ease in unloading. Our house offers peace and quiet like you have never before experienced. We have national park areas surrounding our property which means hours and days of exploring with walks or by car, also a beautiful river bed to drive or walk along. The area is rich in wildlife and is renowned for bird watching. Species we have spotted include Bee Eater, Golden Oriel, Scops Owl and Hoopoes. The house is overlooked by Comares. A Moorish stronghold with stunning views and Andalucian charm aplenty. Restaurants and bars are worth a tour to sample the local tapas and locally brewed wine. There is also a communal swimming pool for public use during the summer months. Casa Holly is the perfect holiday home for relaxation in comfortable, quality surroundings. The house is also well equipped for winter holidays with lots of options for heating including an attractive, powerful 10KW wood burner. Facilities nearby include: Horse riding 15 mins drive Waterpark 'Aquavelis' 35 mins drive to Velez Malaga, opposite the park there is the main shopping/cine/restaurants complex 'El Ingenio'. Torre del Mar is the nearest beach town and has a market every Thursday morning. Torre is approximately 45 minutes drive - drive a little further and you will arrive in Nerja - a delightful seaside town with plenty of restaurants and shops. Close to the town are the fascinating Nerja Caves - a major tourist attraction and well worth a visit. Malaga city is a 45 mins drive. With a beautiful cathedral, the Picasso and Carmen Thyssen Museums, tapas bars aplenty and fabulous shopping, a trip to the city centre is a must! Take a stroll down to the port and take in the atmosphere with it´s varied restaurants. The city of Granada is approximately 1.5 hours drive with the fascinating and impressive Alhambra Palace and should you be visiting in the winter, the ski resort Sierra Nevada is only a short distance from Granada, it´s snowy slopes overlooking the city. About the neighbourhood
Rio Solano is a small hamlet nestled in the hillsides under Comares - the last moorish stronghold of Andalucia. It is accessible from the villages of Comares, Benamargosa or Riogordo villages all of which have bars and restaurants, banks, a minimart, a post office and health centre. The Comares annual fiesta takes place annually on the last weekend of August. Rich in local culture and folklore, this is one of the most important local events where the whole village is involved in organising food, dance, singing, sport and the procession of the patron saint of Comares - San Hilario de Poitiers. Getting around
Buses run to Malaga from Riogordo and Colmenar. The website Busbud has the details including timetables and prices. Once in Malaga, there are two main stations where there are two commuter lines that run - one to Fuengirola and the other to Alora. Mario Zambrano station is the main station for the high speed train (AVE) links to the rest of Spain.
