Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Pink House is nestled in the village of East Lulworth, just a stone's throw from historic Lulworth Castle & Country Park and only 3 miles from the sea at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. This spectacular Jurassic Coastline, now declared a World Heritage Site, is accessible via footpaths from the house and here you can enjoy coastal walks, swimming, snorkeling, picnics, fishing, kayaking, photography, or just lazing on the beach with friends and family. The Pink House is a post war semi detached property, previously owned by The Weld Family Estate, with uninterrupted views to the front. Inside the house is homely and comfortable with an open plan lounge/dining area, wood burning stove as well as cosy underfloor heating and modern essentials such as WiFi, smart TV,etc. French double doors (from the dining area) open directly onto the paved patio which leads up to the garden with outdoor seating, lawn/play area, fruit trees, flowers, BBQ and herbs for cooking. Adjacent to the lounge is a snug/study area with another wood burning stove, double sofa bed, well stocked library of vintage paperbacks, local guidebooks and walking/touring maps of Dorset. The country style kitchen with lovely garden views has been updated to include slate quarry tiles, underfloor heating, fitted kitchen, oven, hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms with good sized double beds and quality mattresses, as well as pure cotton sheets, feather duvets and pillows. The bathroom has a recently installed walk in shower, small bath, vanity sink unit and WC. There is also a 2nd separate toilet and washbasin upstairs which is adjacent to the main bathroom. Throughout the house there are many personal touches including handmade mosaic mirrors, beachcomber mobiles of driftwood and glass and other memorabilia collected from our travels. If you are a family seeking a hideaway holiday, an active group of friends eager to explore, a wedding party celebrating at nearby Lulworth Castle or just interested in discovering the delights of Thomas Hardy's Dorset then the Pink House is the perfect place to come and stay in a country setting close by the sea. Amenities include off-road parking for 2 cars. Pure cotton bed linen, bathroom towels, electricity, WiFi and central heating included. There is a full sized cot with mattress and highchair. Responsible pet owners and their well behaved dogs (minimum age 12 months) are welcome although, unfortunately, we cannot accept guests with cats. As a courtesy to other guests there is no smoking policy within the house In nearby Wareham, Wool or Lulworth you can sample Dorset specialties at the weekly farmers markets, pick your own at the organic farm shop - which also sells top quality regional produce, buy locally caught fresh fish, try a range of tasty goods at the well stocked delicatessen and health food stores or discover Purbeck arts & crafts from around the area. If you don't want to drive the Weld Arms Pub, Tea Rooms and Lulworth Equestrian Centre are all within easy walking distance. More

Good location, pleasant relaxing house with good facilities

Family Friendly holiday home

Great family get away

The Pink House Lulworth is perfectly located for exploring the Dorset coast. The house was very well equipped. Deb and John (the owners) made us feel very welcomed with a basket and were just a call away if we should have needed them.

Far from The Madding Crowd, and easily recognisable from the Wessex depicted in his books, the Isle of Purbeck and surrounding Dorset is historically known as 'Hardy Country'. Thomas Hardy's birthplace is now a National Trust property in Higher Bockhampton, near Dorchester, and is a good place to combine a step back in time with a picturesque woodland walk through Puddletown Forest and Egdon Heath, which inspired Hardy to write The Return of the Native.
