Such a sincere , warm and caring hospitality i have never experienced before. We visited the farm with our three kids who are in their twenties. They arranged the most enjoyable experiences for us. Took us to local festivals where we participated and were highly welcomed, took us on walks in the different neighborhood around the village, enjoyed , with us a theyam performance and arranged wonderful backwater cruises . Their house is most beautiful , welcoming, convenient and comfortable. What Mrs. Preety cooked for us was unbelievable. Through her cooking we have learnt so much about the local traditions. They made great efforts to make sure we have the best visit in Kerala and they highly succeeded.
We felt very much at home and it was sad to leave. We highly , highly recommend this family
To anyone who wishes for a unique and wonderful experience to both body and spirit.

A TEMPLE LAKE TOWN IN THE GREATBACKWATERS OF KERALA
A quiet and clean nature blessed municipal town on the banks of the huge Vembanad
Lake, with branches of several backwater streams and rivers flowing into the same
The population of around hundred thousand mainly consists of devout Hindus, followed
by sizeable Syrian Christians and a few Muslims. The local people are literate, peace
loving, religious and friendly. This small town has produced many literary figures, artists,
political & religious leaders.
Although there are many ancient temples and churches in the locality, the prominent
landmark of Vaikom is the ancient & majestic Shiva temple, a marvel of traditional Kerala
temple architecture. Mahatma Gandhi, Father of Indian Nation began his historic temple
entry Satyagraha by entering this temple along with his followers. This movement was
to confer the right of entry to each and every Hindu brethren in all the Hindu worship
Vaikom is a self-sufficient town which can cater to most of the demands of the locals
and the basic needs of the discerning visitors. In and around the town, there are many
good hospitals. You can easily find several Banks, ATMs and foreign exchange centers
in the town.
Garden fresh vegetables, varieties of banana, coconuts and paddy are in plenty. The
unpolluted lake & backwaters of Vaikom is a rich source of tasty and good quality
fishes. This water body is a main source of KARIMEEN (PEARL FISH) which has the
unique 'State Fish' status. Vaikom's coconut toddy, a mildly intoxicating local brew, is
a leisure drink popular with the native public, but the visitors are advised to experiment
the same only under the guidance of your lodging hosts.
