There is no question, Tamarind House is beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Very spacious and full of character and charm. It felt a little like we were "living the dream". All comms from Nancy were good and the staff were friendly and helpful. For example, one morning the fire alarm in one of the bedrooms started faulting at 5am. Rather than call for help immediately we left it a while and then rang Paul Joseph for help. He was there in 2 minutes. All sorted. The pool area is fantastic under the stars and very clean, as is the whole accommodation. A couple of things to remember when visiting Tamarind: 1. A 4WD is a must. We were led astray a little by SIXT and led to believe that our car was AWD (Hyundai Creta). It wasn't. After a bout of rain were not able to get up the hill which leads to the property (out of Soufriere) and had to abandon the car and walk home in the dark and rain. Not great. The road to the property is not for the faint hearted. I know many people put this, but really, it is a bit of a test (as are a lot of the roads in St. Lucia). A couple of local taxi drivers, who knew the road well, tried to get our car up the hill. Even they could not manage it. Don't mess about, get a 4WD. 2. Bugs. Bugs.........ohhhh.......bugs. We were all eaten alive. The beds have nets around them which do help but all the doors in the house are slatted so mosquitoes very easily enter from the outside world big gangs!!!! I think maybe some bug netting curtains to pull over all the exterior doorways may help. Sitting in the evening with the lights on was a "no no" as it beckoned all kinds in from the woods!! After a couple of days we got used to it but it was a little testing. 3. Anse Chastanet and Anse Marmin beachs (both walking distance) are fantastic. 4. Gros Piton trail walk - I'm reasonably fit. It's a killer!! More of an SAS survival course than a hike.........give it a go. I got half way and then threw the towel in as it was roasting hot (we set off at 8am). The rest of the family managed to get to the top thus I was the brunt of a few jokes for the next 2 days! All in all, we had a great stay at a really beautiful and well maintained Tamarind House. Be in no doubt, it's worth a trip. Simply stunning.

We were a party of 6 (4 adults - 2 almost teens) who visited Tamarind House mid July 2022. It was an absolutely incredible experience. The house and staff were wonderful. As beautiful as the pictures are, they probably do not do the property justice, you have to go yourself to experience just how amazing it is. I can't imagine that there is a better view on St. Lucia or frankly anywhere in the Caribbean. The staff was extremely helpful without being intrusive, which we appreciated. Every time we asked for help or information, they were able to take care of it. They took care of almost all of our food shopping and most of the food prep (including dinners). We loved the local dishes that the cook was able to prepare for us. I would keep in mind that this location might not be for everyone. The surrounding area is extremely rugged. Big hills, very bad roads. I walked to the beach twice, but it is one heck of a climb back up. I wouldn't recommend that walk for children or for individuals who aren't ready for some exercise. The property itself has a number of large steep stairs. Again, for the very young or very old, this could be an issue. In certain ways it wasn't an "easy" vacation, but it was the perfect location for us. The house is a classic beauty and you absolutely cannot beat that view. If you are looking for something a little off the beaten path, I'd 100% recommend Tamarind House.

Wonderful property! The views are outstanding as is the house. The staff keeps everything looking pristine and we enjoyed many meals they prepared. Having a private pool was amazing. The plants around the property are beautiful and tended to almost daily. We worried about getting hot at night since it's open air but it was not a problem. There are fans and the breezes keep it cool (even had to use a light blanket a couple of nights). Overall, we had a fantastic time and would not hesitate to recommend this property!

We had a wonderful week at Tamarind House. Nancy was so super before we arrived answering any and all of my questions. She is the perfect hostess. Tamarind House is just so beautiful. Her staff, Anne, Cheryl, Julia, and Paul felt like an extension of our family of 8 by the end of the week. We used Benton the entire time we were there to drive us around. The road leading up to the house is a bit rough so we were thankful for him and his various drivers. He even had his one driver, Justin, secure 3 handmade brooms for me to take back home. The staff used them to sweep around the villa. We had Chef Francis prepare 2 meals for us. They were wonderful. Other nights Anne and Cheryl prepared meals and left them in fridge for us to heat later for dinner at our convenience. Thanks to all at Tamarind for an unforgettable week.

We three adult kids, each with our mothers, enjoyed a week at Tamarind House. Nancy, the owner, was very good with communication, and all the house staff and affiliated services were phenomenal.

We stayed for seven days and every day we sat in awe at the view across the water to the Pitons. It really is a million dollar view. The villa is remarkable and laid out very nicely. Not like modern places that emphasize the kitchen as a gathering place in the great room, this kitchen is tucked away yet convenient. This aspect was appreciated as it gave the main room a very cool feel extremely open to the beauty that surrounds you. The staff were wonderfully warm and helpful. They made many of our meals which were varied and complex enough in recipes that you felt like it was restaurant level preparation. Anne and Cheryl are super. We rented a 4 wheel drive suv and we’re able to explore the island which has so much to offer beyond beaches. One of the best beaches on the Island is walkable if you are in good condition. Nancy the owner stayed in touch and coordinated everything we needed. People spend a lot more money to stay at Jade Mountain for the same open air views. The only sub 5 mark relates not so much to the cleanliness as Cheryl did a great job daily cleaning. It is that the villa has been around a for a while in with a nearby ocean so the effects of time can be seen in places. To me it is reminiscent of a Southern France villa with loads of charm. I would definitely love to come back, though our modus operandi is to always seek out new locations. It is a big world and this place is a must see.

My sister and I stayed at tamarind house the first week in May. I have never seen such a beautiful home in an amazingly beautiful location. The house was decorated beautifully and kept immaculately clean. Property is well appointed and we had everything we needed. We were so happy with the home and pool that we only left to buy groceries. We had been to St. Lucia before and did all the exploring and shopping then, this time we were happy to read, relax, swim. We prepared meals to eat on the amazing patio with views of flowers, birds the sea and boats and the amazing Tamarind tree. Cheryl, Ann and Benton made our stay perfect! They were friendly and answered all of our questions happily. Cheryl and Ann made us breakfast every morning that was a great start to our day. They are the perfect staff for the home and do everything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing You won’t be disappointed if you choose Tamarind House for your home away from home in St. Lucia

Tamarind House is simply incredible. As other reviews say, pictures cannot capture how breathtaking the house is. No windows and huge doors = views of the Pitons from everywhere. The house is just immaculate. The pool is perfect. Ann and Cheryl run a tight ship and cook the perfect breakfasts, lunches and dinners (and if they could ship us some ice cream I would do it anytime). Paul keeps the property looking pristine. We had Chef Francis cook dinner for us twice. If we could do it again, we would not go out to a restaurant at all and would just have Ann and Cheryl, as well as Chef Francis, cook dinner for us the entire trip. We also did 3 days of diving with Chester at Action Adventure and cannot recommend him enough. Thank you, Nancy, for letting us share this house for a week! We cannot wait to come back.

This stunning property is unlike any place else we have stayed. Large and breezy with open walls and a courtyard - it is truly indoor/outdoor living. We were initially a bit uneasy with having people cook for us, but they were incredible and the house is so big, there is no loss of privacy. We used the tennis court and the pool every day and enjoyed the challenging walk home from the beach. The sunsets from under the tamarind tree on the balcony were beautiful and our family of 7 had a wonderful time.
