Overview
Condo/Apartment -
Studio , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Todos Santos, Baja California
CASITA de LUNA is a peaceful, beach-cabana studio for a relaxing vacation, just a few hundred feet away from the Pacific. Spectacular view (no exaggeration) of coastline and Sierra Laguna mountains to east, with lots of open space, nature and seclusion. Hours on the porch in the hammock or recliner, watching whales, melts your tension away. You'll enjoy few neighbors, 6 houses to the north and 90 acres of old-growth cactus to the south with great wildlife habitat and bird watching (osprey, quail, road runners, etc.). The casita is behind locked gate for privacy, security and no dust! Sea turtle hatcheries are just down the beach, for an inspirational experience. Or just hang out on the porch and marvel at the whales migrating by, take pictures, read a selection from our box of books, or take a nap. A great little rustic hideaway where... Read more

Interaction with guests
I answer questions and help you plan your time in Todos Santos, with local insight and suggestions to help you make the most of your time. Detailed directions are mailed to our house guests along with ideas for restaurants, activities and banking and cell info. Once there, Luis our property manager will meet you, give you the keys and answer any questions. He is also very responsive if any problems arise, and a great source of information on the local fishing scene. Please set up a time for check out/key return when you arrive. There is no way to lock the keys in the house, and we don't want it left open!

We spent 3 nights and this cute little casita and wished we could have stayed longer. It was very private with wonderful views of the ocean. The bright blue accents gave great charm and we loved hanging out of the covered front porch. I would...More

About the neighbourhood
We are in an undeveloped area with spectacular views of mountains to the east, Punta Lobos to the south and the ocean to the southwest. Adjacent to 80 acres of old-growth cactus with great wildlife habitat (osprey, quail, road runners) and phenomenal whale watching. Almost water front with just 2 lots between you and the beach - the seclusion of nature.

An exceptionally peaceful, spacious location with gated parking away from dust and noise, and no roosters crowing at dawn. A great get-away for those of you that like the outdoors and privacy.

Outdoor activities are our favorites. About half a mile north or south are sea turtle hatcheries (walk down at sunset and watch/ help release newly hatched baby sea turtles). Kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, surfing, swimming, hiking, or watchin...

Getting around
Having a car gives you the independence to get to all the local beaches. Many are walkable, including getting into town, but some require a car. Some people are content to sit and relax on our front porch and unwind, watching the whales file past.

How to get there
Airport: Los Cabos airport, San Jose : 90.0 km
Ferry: La Paz: 90.0 km
The most flight options are to fly into Los Cabos airport (SJD) in San Jose del Cabo. Rent a car and I'll help you get to our casita with detailed directions and maps. Allow about an hour and 20 minutes driving time on the new by-pass road. It costs 70 pesos (less than $4) and they do not take US dollars. You can exchange dollars for pesos in the airport (use ATM not the Cambios counters). The car rental places will direct you to the road from their facility.

You can also take the Baja Ecotours shuttle to Todos Santos and rent a car there. You can reserve the shuttle online for about $20 us. The Aguila bus also has many stops in Todos Santos but you have to get to bus station.

Some people take the shuttle/bus and taxi and then just walk all around! There is a laundromat, restaurant...
