Casa de Iguanas is a beautiful home located on a quiet culdesac in one of the most secure and prestigious communities in Mazatlan, El Cid. Homes here are located around the 27-hole championship golf course, spotted with lagoons and wildlife such as birds, turtles and iguanas.
The El Cid community is located right in the middle of the Golden Zone, Mazatlan's most popular tourist area, close to bars, restaurants, shopping and miles and miles of beautiful sandy beaches! Casa de Iguanas is only a 10-minute walk from all the action of the Golden Zone, but can also be accessed via cab or pulmonia (pool-mo-knee-ya), a golf-cart looking vehicle found only in Mazatlan. If you bring your vehicle, Casa de Iguanas has 2 parking spaces available for use.

The VERY BEST home rental we ever had in Mazatlan!
We have been coming to Mazatlan for the winter, off and on, for fifteen years now. In that time, we have stayed in hotels, condos, RV parks, and homes. Casa de Iguanas is, without doubt, the perfect place for us. Located right on one of the ponds within the El Cid golf community, at the end of a cul de sac, the ambiance is one of a lovely, high end resort setting. Though we do not play golf, we love to walk the course and enjoy the perfect weather while taking in the beautiful views.
We walk to the beach in less than fifteen minutes, where one of the best of the beach front hotels welcomes us in the dining room, at poolside, or just to lie on one of the many chaise chairs to listen to the surf. Because we enjoy several meals a week there, they have no objection to our doing so. Consequently, we are able to enjoy the best of two worlds.....the beach and the peace and quiet of El Cid's gated loveliness.
The house itself is large enough to comfortably accommodate another couple when we have visitors (actually...it could handle TWO more couples), but not so large as to make it outsized for the two of us. Everything we need is here...great kitchen, fully stocked, comfortable and relatively new living room furniture, super covered portal and patio in back for leisurely scrabble, card games, reading, or just iguana watching, as well as sunny areas for soaking in the winter sun. The lack of a pool is no problem, as the hotels nearby provide that if desired, Most residential pools here are unheated anyway, which, though fine nine months a year, tend to be quite cold in the winter. No loss there. The master bedroom and bath are great, and there is a lovely upstairs balcony overlooking the pond. The owners have installed SKY television, which is the most comprehensive and greatest array of English language programming available.
To top it off...Jorge and Rachel are THE WORLD'S BEST property managers. They are responsive immediately to any issues, and provide excellent cleaning, gardening and maintenance staff on a regular basis. We would work with nobody else in Mazatlan....Their professionalism and integrity are unmatched in our experience. We love them and will continue to return year after year.
