About the neighbourhood
There's a reason Playa was recently named the world's most popular vacation destination. There is so much to do! Of course there's the beautiful Riviera Maya beach and all imaginable water sports available. But even non-swimmers have fun wandering the 4-mile pedestrian mall, getting spa services, sampling the world cuisines in 150 restaurants, and having more available nightlife experiences than anyone could take in on a vacation: concerts, Cirque du Soleil, movies at the Cineplex, a wide variety of theme parks and adventure parks, one including a two hour Mexican folklorico show, a flamenco dance performance in nearby Puerto Morelos, solo performers across town, a few galleries, a weekly art walk..... and more!
Walking does it in Playa, thanks to our 4-mile pedestrian mall! But if you prefer-- and for longer jaunts--there are regulated, zoned taxis everywhere. You can also travel up and down the coast via shuttle bus, cab, van, or rental car. Ask our building concierge to help you do it right and inexpensively. Favorite out of town spots are cenotes, theme parks, deserted beaches, Cirque du Soleil, the Tulum ruins, and the picturesque small towns such as Akumal and Puerto Morelos (especially on Saturday night). For a visit to Cozumel, take a ferry--either pedestrian or car ferry.
