Cottage
Seaside House is a traditional crofter's cottage in the popular hamlet of Luskentyre on the Luskentyre Estuary, home to the world renowned Rosamol Beach. It is beautifully decorated and furnished to a very high standard and features tweed curtains, cushions and accessories as well as local artwork. It has tasteful plaid carpet throughout that embraces the colours of the sand and sea. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is an open fire and a stove. The cottage benefits from a large porch room and a separate utility room. It sits in its own walled and fenced garden and has views of the sea over to Taransay and also the estuary and to the back the stunning mountain of Beinn Dhubh. We welcome dogs with a few house rules and a small surcharge. The property benefits from being close to the fabulous beaches meaning that you can literally walk out of the gate with your bucket & spade and be at the beach, on foot, in minutes. And if you're at the beach and realise that you've forgotten a vital part of your picnic, home is close at hand to nip back and get it.

Pure relaxation
We all had a very relaxing time at Seaside House. The close proximity to the most stunning beaches is first class. We enjoyed the walks, fishing in the lochan at the back of the cottage and seeing eagles. One of our other highlights was visiting the distillery which is extremely well thought through. Cafe not to be missed for homemade soups and baking. The mobile cinema was in town so we also had the chance to experience this.

Absolutely first rate experience.
The house is ideally located close to one of the world's best beaches. The view is truly stunning. The house itself is extremely well equipped with all top quality kitchen gear. The conversion from a simple cottage is excellent. Jo Blythe is a first rate manager/owner.

Hebridean Gem
My husband and I have holidayed in the Hebrides for many years and since finding Seaside House have just returned from our third stay. Harris is a magical Island that gets under your skin and Seaside House is a perfect place to stay. Cosy rooms and open fires when weather not to good. Lovely outside garden for sunny days. The kitchen has everything you need. Comfy beds for a good night's sleep. The location is perfect with views of Luskentyre and a few minutes walk to the most beautiful beach on earth. Central for all day trips. The owner Jo and housekeeper Robin are a pleasure to deal with.

Beautiful rental
We’ve stayed here twice at Easter time - it’s the only property we’ve ever rented twice as there are so many other places in the world to visit. But Harris is magical and this is a perfect place to base yourself within a short walk from one of the most amazing beaches you will find anywhere and a short drive from others. The house itself is really cosy and well appointed, especially if you want to cook. It has an enclosed garden if you have young children or a dog. All in all a great place to stay.

We stayed for a week and it wasn't long enough
We had a fantastic stay, great house, beautiful spot and couldn't ask for more. The owner and housekeeper were lovely and so helpful by providing information that made our planning and travel easy. Loved everything about the house and Harris - will return.

Seaside house Luskentyre, little piece of Heaven.
We have stayed at this amazing house three times and our children call it paradise. The house is surrounded by beautiful beaches of white sand that seem to go on forever and turquoise blue sea. There are many beautiful walks and amazing wildlife to see. We have seen sea eagles, otters, dolphins and so much more. The house draws us back each year comfortable, inviting well equipped and a home from home. The house sleeps 8 comfortably and the house is well decorated with local art. At night the starts twinkle and there is a telescope to gaze on a clear night. The landscape is ever changing and no two days are the same. It is a great base to travel around the island but Luskentyre is a gem and it is hard to pull yourself away, even on a rainy. There is so much to see and do and you will not be disappointed. Jo is accommodating and nothing is too much trouble.

Jewel in the crown of West Harris
Incredible location almost on one of Britain’s if not the world’s best beaches at Luskentyre, Seaside House is a wonderful holiday cottage that has a really homely lived in feel. We will definitely return to Seaside House next year and the year after and after that again!

A real gem
We had a really lovely time – thanks so much. It’s such an idyllic spot and was just perfect for our hols with our two small people, there was a lot of bucket and space action! The house was incredibly comfortable and well kitted out for almost every eventuality. Robin was brilliant and made the stay even easier. We particularly appreciated the well kitted out kitchen as we are keen cooks and Anna, our 2 year old, played with the farm jigsaw and Thomas blocks at least twice a day!

Shush....a hidden gem
I've done a lot of holidays in Scotland and I can genuinely, hand on heart, say that our stay at Seaside House was the best. What we liked: 1. Arrangements before hand were so easy. We stayed in the Cowshed at Uig (which I'd recommend for the kids) and then got the ferry. Brilliant. We also did click and collect with Tesco before we got the ferry. So easy. 2. The location is phenomenal. Down the drive, across the road and you are on Harris' best beach. No joke. We used to wander across for an evening BBQ on the dunes surrounded by wild horses. We had the whole place to ourselves. I mean, WHAT? (its worth noting the main car park for Luskentyre and therefore the place where everyone goes is further down the road from the house so you won't see the masses) 3. The accommodation is also lovely - beautiful art, fantastic well equipped kitchen....brilliant lay out for a family with young children and grandparents. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. And I've recommended the house to everyone.
