The Lodge has 2 bedrooms, 1 double (ground floor), 1 twin (first floor) and a ground floor shower room and WC. It sits in the grounds of a 16th Century house called The Old Forge House. The Lodge is located in the rural part of West Mersea and enjoys lovely farmland views. There is a farm shop very close by which can be found down the farm entrance lane opposite. Access to amenities is about 5 minutes by car or a very pleasant walk via footpaths across the fields to the anchorage taking about 25/30 mins. All bedding, linen and towels provided...The Lodge has 2 bedrooms, 1 double (ground floor), 1 twin (first floor) and a ground floor shower room and WC. About the neighbourhood
The island location offers excellent sailing and watersports, including wind surfing and also has superb kite surfing beaches. The waterfront / anchorage offers a variety of restaurants and places to eat. Mersea is famous for its Native Oysters, which have been praised by both Jamie Oliver and Rick Stein, and these can be sampled in 'The Company Shed' and 'The West Mersea Oyster Bar'. In addition to the above eateries there is also 'The Victory', 'The Fox', 'Titash' and 'The Coast Inn'. We are happy to make table reservations for you prior to your arrival. Please contact us if you have any questions. Mersea also has its own vineyard and wine and beer are brewed on site and available in the cafe.
