This cottage is in the grounds of a former mill in New Mills and can sleep seven people in three bedroomsThe Old Workshop is a superb cottage in the grounds of a Grade II* listed former mill on the River Goyt, just on the edge of the Derbyshire town of New Mills. The cottage is all on the first floor and sleeps seven people in three double bedrooms (one with a pull-out bed) along with two family bathrooms. Also in the cottage is an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area. Outside is off road parking and access to the river and a myriad of walks. Travel cot and highchair on request. Off road parking for 3 cars. Small terrace accessed through one of the bedrooms. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops, pub and restaurants 10 mins walk. Note: There are many stone steps and ledges and a fast flowing river close by, children will require very close supervision and the cottage is not suitable for people with limited mobility as it can only be accessed by fairly steep steps. Please NOTE. No Stag/Hens or similar parties or Worker bookings. Region: The ultimate in 'year-round' appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales. Town: Situated on the borders of North West Derbyshire and Cheshire is the small town of New Mills, forming part of the Derbyshire Peak District. Although the settlement dates back to the 13th Century, the late 20th Century saw the Torrs Riverside Park, often called 'the park under the town' - come into being as a place for recreation and relaxation. To promote tourism in the area, the New Mills Heritage Centre was opened and visitors can enjoy this as well as The Torrs Millennium Walkway, a much-admired bridge set deep within the gorge. Just five miles away is Chapel en le Frith - the Capital of the Peaks - that boasts a cobbled market place complete with historic old stocks. The spa town of Buxton is within easy driving distance and is famous not only for its therapeutic spring water but also for its Pavillion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House.More

Great location in Goyt Valley

Quirky, large property. Nice bedrooms/bathrooms. Quite noisy as the bar/restaurant opposite opens from 11am to 11pm. Hours are due to be extended to 1am. Also, lots of building work going on from 08.30am so bear this in mind if you’re after peace and quiet. The...More
