Yurt
Our beautiful yurts have been handmade on the Isle of Wight and sit in a private field up behind the farm. They're perfect for couples and small families sleeping up to 6 in one king-size double bed and four single mattresses on a mezzanine deck. The yurts have fully equipped kitchens with oven and hobs, fridge with small freezer compartment, dining space and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. Each yurt also has a wood burning stove for the colder nights and the perspex dome on the roof winds open and closed. Outside there is a fire pit, seating, hammock and BBQ. The yurts have USB charging sockets for phones and devices and one 13 amp domestic socket. There is no wifi in the yurts but guests can connect in the games room, farm shop and restaurant.

Each of the yurts is 6 metres in diametre but they are all different in layout. They all comfortably sleep 2 - 4 but can sleep up to 6 with 4 single mattresses on the mezzanine decks.
The yurts also have a communal dining yurt and fire pit area that can seat up to 24 with large gas bbq, food prep and wash-up making it an ideal space for groups renting 2 or more yurts together. All 5 yurts can sleep up to 30 in total.
The Garlic Farm restaurant is just a short walk from your door serving breakfast and lunch everyday with discounts for our guests. Guests also enjoy use of our private tennis court, games room and football pitch as well as open access to all the beautiful surrounding farm land.
Chickens, peacocks and red squirrels roam freely around the site and there are highland cattle and horses in the surrounding fields.
We had a great time staying in the yurt on garlic farm. Having never camped before I thought this would allow me to experience ‘outdoor’ accommodation with all the home comforts. The yurts are kitted out with everything you could need and allow cold in the evenings the bed and log fire made it very cosy. We were there with our two year old who enjoyed the walks, playground and animals especially the peacocks and chickens. Also breakfast in the garlic farm restaurant was delicious. We will definitely be returning

Wonderful visit in a well maintained yurt
Fantastic trip and experience in a beautiful yurt. Due to the ferry times we arrived late at night, but upon arrive were directed by Colin to our yurt who helped up with our luggage. Entering the yurt, the finish and detailing was very high, and the impression was perfect. The fire was set, logs to hand, and the kitchen and bedroom full stocked. We had two awesome and atmospheric nights, (including board games provided!). And for October the fire was beautiful and the yurt was well insulated.
Going around the farm we went to the cafe, did the tractor ride around the farm, and the staff were very ready to help and give local recommendations. Frequently we would encounter Colin who had made it his mission to ensure everything was going well, which it was. The games room also was well stocked with darts, table tennis, pool, etc.
Overall a fantastic trip and would fully recommend and definitely hope to come again!

About the neighbourhood
Mersley Farm (AKA The Garlic Farm) is a working farm growing garlic and with a small herd of highland cattle, a few horses and chickens. The Garlic Farm Shop located in the farm yard sells all our unique garlic products, plus a range of Island products. We also have a restaurant open for lunch every day serving a selection of delicious freshly prepared meals by the experienced Island chef, Phil Hopkins. The restaurant has already received much acclaim for the quality of its meals. We also serve delicious breakfasts from 9am until 11am.
Getting around
The farm lies at the hub of the 147 miles of bridle, cycling and footpaths for which the Island is famous. A ten minute walk from the farm onto the Downs will reward you with some of the most exhilarating views of the Island, over the Solent to England and far across the Channel. Other sports available locally are fishing, sailing, cycling, windsurfing, surfing and riding. We are happy to provide advice and information, and help arrange any of these activities on request.
