About the neighbourhood
With the famous medieval bridge, Potter Heigham is one of the main boating centres on the Norfolk Broads and a long stretch of water for those that fancy a little trip out from their cottage on a Dayboat. The famous Potter Heigham Bridge crosses the River Thurne and splits Potter Heigham into two, Thurne Bank Potter Bank with access in both directions to other pretty Broadland Villages. Upper Thurne leading to Hickling, Horsey Martham and in the other direction Horning, Wroxham, Ludham and further a field Stalham and southern rivers. The Broadshaven Tavern public house and overlooks the river so sitting and watching the world float by from the river garden is a must. Within walking distance also is the Falgate Inn again with garden (not riverside) and serving good traditional pub food. T... more
