One of the best cottages we've ever stayed in
Arnside and Silverdale is a beautiful area and Sunnyside Cottage was a perfect location, being close to RSPB Leighton Moss, where we spent most of our time. The cottage was tastefully furnished, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and most important to me, it was clean. A perfect place to stay. The owners were friendly and kept us up-to-date to ensure our holiday went smoothly. There are many places to visit and it's only a short drive into Bowness and Windermere. From there, a lake cruise up to Ambleside is well worth a trip and the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis near Milnthorpe is well worth a visit. Small but beautifully kept and being part of an endangered species breeding programme, it has some exciting and rare animals to see.

Comfortable and quiet and so far living up to it's name!
Sunnyside is a lovely cottage, tucked away towards the edge of the village but within easy reach of the local shops. It is less than 10 minutes walk to the stunning beach. There are many beautiful local walks from the door.A great place to come to relax and enjoy a wide variety of landscapes. The cottage is very well equipped ,the beds are very comfortable and there is a pleasant garden to sit out in.

Perfect weekend away
Had a perfect relaxing weekend away in silverdale made all the more special by being able to stay at this delightful cottage. Tucked away a short walking distance from the centre of the village. There was nothing else we could have wished for as the cottage was well equipped with all home comforts super comfy beds and pillows. We took advantage of the really helpfull information provided in take with you maps and directions around the local area. We met the landlord when we arrived as we were early he made us extremely welcome, We would not hesitate staying here again

Fantastic cottage!
Lovely welcoming feel to the cottage. Perfect for a quiet getaway, or plenty to do in easy walking distance/ a short drive if desired. Our 5yr loved it and wanted to stay forever :-)

Great cottage. Parking space not for the novice driver!
Have stayed in a good few holiday cottages and this one is up there in the best equipped bracket. Kitchen especially was very well equipped but could have done with a mixing bowl for those that may like to bake when away, but to be honest that's a very minor observation. Very clean throughout and good standard of furniture and bedding ( very comfortable mattress). Enclosed sunken garden was a nice suntrap and to the rear of the cottage up the lane are footpaths that run for miles, which the dog loved. Village itself is incredibly quiet and you can walk about most times and hardly see a soul. It's one of those cottages that looks and feels not to be just a holiday let and is fairly obvious from the way it's equipped that the owners use this as much as they can when it isn't being rented and there are a few personal touches here and there that give this away. It's full of odds and ends that probably came from the owners home originally and that gives it a very homely feel and takes away the sterility you can sometimes get. Only negative is the car parking space which is incredibly tight to get into. Entrance is between a tree and a rockery and unless you are driving an old style mini you will have just under a foot either side to get the car in and only if you get the turn bang on. Recommend that anyone renting this goes up the lane a bit, turns and goes in from that direction ( it's easier that way but not by much). If you have parking sensors turn them off, breathe in and hope for the best!! If I owned this I would lose the tree and plant another further away to give myself half a chance on a dark night.

Fantastic stay at sunndyside cottage
We stayed for 4 nights in April. Cottage is lovely, and bigger than expected. In a lovely village location, and felt very private even though you are close to other houses. 10-15 minute walk away from coast and main village which has a brilliant dog friendly pub with great food! Would definitely go back, and recommend. Only point to make, is that driveway is quite narrow, but can fit 2 small cars on or 1 large car

The perfect base for a relaxing holiday
This is a really lovely cottage that feels welcoming from the start. It has all the essentials you need for a good holiday. The kitchen is well equipped and the other rooms are comfortable and cosy, especially when it’s windy and raining outside! The porch is very useful for boots etc. and there's a pretty little courtyard for sitting in the sun. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and you don’t always need the car to explore it. We were impressed by the variety of walks nearby - woods, hills, coast, wonderful views, ancient buildings etc. Also there are some excellent pubs, the Royal in Silverdale and others further afield. Definitely a place to return to!

We loved this place!
Sunnysie cottage was perfect and hands down the best of all the places we stayed during our 3 weeks in England. Cozy, clean, generously stocked with everything one might need in terms of kitchen utensils, hair dryers etc, and located in a quiet corner of an already quiet village it was just what we were looking for. So glad we booked this property and we are already talking about returning. I have many fond memories of Arnside from frequent visits to my grandparents house as a child, so thought I would be disappointed with any other place in the Arnside/Silverdale area. This place, however, greatly exceeded my expectations. A clothes dryer would have been nice, as it is difficult to get laundry done in a hurry when traveling, and the gas fire was a little difficult to get started, but other than that it was truly perfect.

About the neighbourhood
The historic village of Silverdale sits snugly on the northern shore of Morecambe Bay in a spot that’s been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, thanks to it's rich diversity of habitats and wildlife. It's deciduous woodlands, limestone grasslands and coastal salt marshes are enclosed by low limestone hills creating a perfect environment for rare butterflies and marshland birds. You can discover the rich birdlife on a visit to RSPB Leighton Moss in Silverdale. Sunnyside Cottage is ideally located - just 300 yards from the coast and a similar distance from Eaves Wood and it's many footpaths - don't miss the great views from the Jubilee monument known locally as 'The Pepperpot'. One of our favourite walks is along the coastal path (or the sands at low-tide) to the quaint seaside village of Arnside - a tempting spot with a pretty Victorian parade of shops along the promenade. Enjoy a pint at The Albion then head back over Arnside Knott, taking in the stunning views of the Lakeland fells across the bay. Facilities locally are excellent - the nearest shop and pub are both about 600 yards from the cottage, whilst there is a modern co-op, post office, newsagent, butcher and chemist in the village. Food is available at the Silverdale Hotel and there is a small Indian restaurant and takeaway, Cinnamon Spice. There are many pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area, within a few minutes drive. Silverdale Golf Club has a beautiful 18-hole course and is very welcoming to visitors -food is available here, too. There is a swimming pool, gym and sauna available at the nearby Holgates holiday park. Cycle hire is available locally.
