Such potential but...
Great location but the house was squalid. The minute we walked through the door the place stank of mould. There was a hole in the bath - presumably causing a leak that was rotting the floorboards underneath - hence the smell. The plaster was falling off the walls in the bathroom, the sofa was filthy and there was a lot of broken junk rammed down the side of the (dusty) dressing table in the bedroom. Half the radiators didn't work and there was a loose floorboard sticking up, luckily, under a chair, where we didn't keep walking into it. The whole house had a air of neglect and gave the impression that someone had died and their relatives had put it out to rent without doing anything to it at all. The furniture was all mismatched and, even though there was an old 'pub' table in the garden, there were no chairs to go with it! Such a shame - right outside the tram stop - great sea views - lovely little sun room (that couldn't be used because of the smell from the oil-fired boiler) - everything was there but not taken advantage of. This place needs a major overhaul - a new bathroom, some decent furniture & curtains, a 'fake' fire/wood-burner in the empty fireplace and a really, really good clean. On the nicer side, there was butter, cheese and bread left for us but it didn't really make up for the disappointment of the shabby accommodation on our first visit to the Isle of Man. Unfortunately things didn't go well the whole visit. Dogs weren't welcome anywhere except the trams and nothing seemed geared up for visitors - a 'come if you want but we won't put ourselves out' attitude. The best time we had was on the actual boat coming and going!

Excellent Location
A quirky very well appointed cottage with exceptional public transport accessible for all including dogs. Pros: lovely sea view with beautiful sunrise over the sea to enjoy breakfast in the sunny conservatory. Warm and cosy, comfortable bed, spacious lounge for 2 people, train / tram lovers dream as the tram’s run directly under the cottage with a stop just a few yards from the back door, bus stop almost outside the front door. With a 5 day all inclusive travel pass the entire Island is accessible from transport from the front or back of the cottage. Cons: bedroom small and a large electric socket sticks out of the wall at the bottom of the bed. I didn’t see it and bruised my shin walking past the narrow space at the bottom of the bed. The cottage is looking very tired and could have been cleaner especially the griddle pan which was covered in brown grease. Funny smell in conservatory as the oil boiler in there. Garden needs a good tidy weeds are not welcoming and the Wi-Fi was challenging and had the get Island Escapes out twice as there is no hub when it goes down to reconnect. That said we loved the cottage and if it were to receive some investment it would be absolutely amazing.
