Cottage
This lovely brick and flint cottage is one of a terrace of three cottages, on a quiet country lane at the mid-point between the four villages of Great Walsingham, Wighton, Binham and Hindringham. It looks onto rolling fields in all directions and has a beautiful large wild garden of about half an acre, full of flowers. You cannot beat it for a rural retreat, about ten minutes' drive from the North Norfolk coast, with its glorious beaches. Downstairs is a newly-fitted kitchen, with electric twin oven, microwave, induction hob and dishwasher, and a separate pantry with fridge and freezer. The kitchen is open to the dining-room, which has a working fireplace and gives onto a paved south-facing terrace, with a table and benches for outdoor meals, all looking across the fields. Next to the dining room is a spacious sitting room with a new TV (can play Catch-up TV) and DVD player, wood-burning stove and i-pod dock. Upstairs is a large bedroom with a superking-sized bed, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The two double bedrooms have incredible views over the fields behind the cottage, while the single bedroom looks out on the front garden. All the beds have electric blankets. The bathroom has a walk-in shower as well as a bath. The brick outhouse behind the cottage has a garden room with a second fridge and a washing machine, as well as a wet-room which provides a useful second loo as well as another shower (great for washing children straight from the beach or muddy dogs). The cottage is very much a family home and is furnished as such: it has a personal feel to it, and a stay here will feel like going to a friend's house. There are family paintings on the walls, and some of the furniture is antique, as are the Turkish kilims, but some things are more shabby. There is wifi, and pets are welcome by arrangement, but no smoking inside the cottage please. Bed linen and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. Firewood will be provided for visitors staying between October and April.

Quirky and Comfortable
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a weekend with our two grandsons aged 9 and 10 and we loved our time there. The cottage is roomy and well equipped and every room has something interesting to look at with a wide range of paintings and artefacts. The boys slept well in their comfortable twin beds and we too slept comfortably in the large master bedroom. We visited Cromer one day, followed by a really good local event held by model makers which the boys really loved and then went on to the tank museum in Muckleburgh which although more a 'boys' thing was something I too found very interesting. On the Sunday we took a ride on the North Norfolk Railway which runs along the hills overlooking the sea on a day when the sky was a beautiful blue, the wind was ruffling the grasses and the sea looked wonderful - very spectacular. Dave's fish bar, down a side street in Sherringham serves wonderful fish and chips too, so all told a really great weekend. We would definitely recommend the cottage and the area to others.

Beautiful Cottage in a fantstic part of North Norfolk
This cottage is a little piece of magic and feels like home from home.... enjoyed the delights oft the wild and beautiful open beaches. Seal trips and shopping in Burnham Market followed by a lovely lunch in the very doggie friendly Halse Hotel. The countryside is amazing with lovely pubs, farm shops, and royal Sandringham is only 20 mins away. I can recommend this cottage 100% and will return again very soon.

A utterly charming cottage in a very peaceful, beautiful location overlooking rolling fields
If you want a quiet holiday in a truly beautiful location, this is perfect. Tastefully restored, with a very large garden, the cottage was ideal when the weather was good and it was very warm and cosy when it rained the next day. Well equipped, with good sized, comfortable beds. the cottage was absolutely charming. Half the garden is in lawn, the other half in the most stunningly beautiful wild garden. Had a really good holiday exploring the local area. Didn't need to travel far. Highlights were the beach at Holkham, Binham Priory and Wiveton café.

Dear Victoria, We are so pleased that you liked the cottage and had a good stay here. Thanks for pointing out that we had no crab forks or lobster crackers, this will be rectified very shortly!

About the neighbourhood
The cottage is in an exceptionally beautiful spot, sited at the midpoint between the four villages of Great Walsingham, Hindringham, Binham and Wighton, in a row of four labourers' cottages on a small lane. The views to the back across the rolling hills and water meadows are just stunning. The nearest pub is under 2 miles away in Binham, which also has a good shop and petrol. Two miles in the other direction is Little Walsingham with its excellent restaurant, the Norfolk Riddle, and wonderful farm shop
