Buzzards and Kestrels hunt over the garden almost every day, Sparrow Hawks are regular, Barn Owls and Peregrines occasional visitors. Roe Deer are resident and in fact the deer have become something of a nuisance. The house is centrally placed so that Alnwick, Bamburgh, the Farne Islands, Hadrian's Wall, Keilder Water and the Dark Skies Park, the Borders and Scotland are all within easy reach. It is very convenient for touring Northumberland and the Borders, for walking, cycling, birdwatching and fishing. .For those with bikes or mobility scooters we offer secure garage storage and parking for trailers, puncture repair kits, use of tools and a compressor. This was the second time we’ve stayed at The Coach House and again it was a brilliant visit! It’s had a lot of improvements since we were last here and looks amazing. Graham and Jackie were excellent hosts just as they were before and we couldn’t ask for more. Graham went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible and made sure it was the perfect setting as we got engaged! We’re looking forward to visiting again in the future whenever that might be.

This was our second visit to The Coach House and we were not disappointed! From the efficiency of communication from Graham and Jackie to their kind welcome, we enjoyed the whole week when we stayed. The Coach House has everything you need for a great, peaceful, comfortable holiday with magnificent views towards the Cheviot hills. It is an excellent location for touring this part of Northumberland - be it coast, country or towns

Our 4th visit, and already booked for next year! Very quiet, off the beaten track, walks available direct from the door. Large garden with great views to the Cheviot hills. Well equipped, hosts live next door, nothing too much trouble. Petfect if you want to get away and chill!

Booked this accommodation for a week in Northumbria. We received a welcome e mail from the owner the same day. In the weeks leading up to our break we received more very helpful messages giving us insight into the area, places of interest and a list of places to eat in the local area. The coach house itself exceeded all our expectations. Everything one could need was provided. A great bed, large shower and well planned kitchen. The outside area is great with decking to three sides, plenty of seating options to drink in the breathtaking views and spectacular sunsets. There is also a hillside grassy area with picnic table with great views. Graham and Jackie the owners who live close by were great hosts. We fully recommend the Old coach House to any couple wanting a great experience in Northumbria. Brilliant in every way.

We have just spent a week in this beautiful cottage, a perfect peaceful haven. It was just the right size for two and everything has been thought of with extra special touches that made us feel so welcome. Jackie and Graham are very attentive but inobtrusive hosts and we are looking forward to a return visit. The Coach House is an ideal base for so many activities but out of the way enough to escape the world for a truly relaxing break.

We have just returned from this wonderful place. Complete tranquility for 6 nights. The cottage is up a little track with glorious views from the decking area. We took our Labrador Reeva, she loved the garden which was safe and a great area for her to chase her ball and explore. It is so peaceful and we saw some lovely sunsets. The property was spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. A tremendous amount of thought has been put in to enable visitors to feel completely at home. Graham and Jackie are genuine, nice people. Jackie asked if there was anything they could do to improve things but we honestly couldn’t think of a thing. We were sad to leave. Thank you both. We’ll be back!.

Wow what a little gem, we booked the coach house with our border collie for some peace from the fireworks. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hosts made sure we had anything we needed. The valley is so peaceful and the view from the bench at the top of the garden as well as the window is stunning. There are lots of lovely walks close by and only half an hour to the beach its perfect. Also the dark sky made it fantastic for star gazing.Thank you to our hosts Graham and Jackie we will definitely be back.

Located up a track 2 miles from Rothbury, sits this little gem with beautiful views over the countryside and lots of birds visiting the bird feeders. There’s an award winning butchers in Rothbury and we sampled a variety of they’re sausages and also Bombay sausage rolls, delicious! We visited Nearby National Trust Cragside and very much enjoyed exploring the grounds and appreciating the autumn colours. Our trip to Alnwick gardens was also most enjoyable, especially as it was decorated for Halloween, that was a pleasant surprise. On returning to the lodge of an evening we fired up the chiminea and had a glass of wine or two, bliss! Would definitely return.

Another fabulous holiday in Northumberland while staying at the Coach House. Lovely welcome by Graham & Jackie as always. All the home comforts provided after a days walking and exploring. Decking for sunbathing or just sitting taking in the view and the surrounding gardens where you can sit and enjoy more elevated views of the Cheviots "stunning". We will be returning again next year, the Coach House is a true gem. Neil&Kat
