This cottage is lovely - warm and cosy - fantastically equipped. Great location for local attractions and towns. Lovely countryside on the doorstep. Fabulous, generous host with wonderful homemade produce. Ample car parking. Beautiful gardens to enjoy. Thoroughly recommend the cottage to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday.

Lovely Short Stay
Excellent 2 night break with the family. The cottage is so well equipped. There really are too many little extras to remember but we especially appreciated the Scone’s and big cake homemade by Jacquline. Regret now not ordering one of the meals she offers at a reasonable price. Another great feature of this cottage is the additional sitting room above the downstairs bedroom. That gave my sons their own space to watch TV and play. The cottage has its own private garden with a picnic table and BBQ. Would be a great place to sit out in the warmer months. We ate out at the Manor House inn (Haltwhistle, a few minutes drive) and also the Tea Rooms (Bardon Mill, a nice 45 minute walk). Bowes Hotel in Bardon Mill recommended for a good range of drinks at good prices. Their evening menu looked good too. Break rounded off with a visit to Walby Farm Park just outside Carlisle. A great place for kids with the bonus of witnessing the birth of a couple of lambs on our visit.

Treasure at the Centre of Britain
We stayed at the Old Brewery Cottage between Christmas and the New Year and were not disappointed. A fantastic home from home. The warmest welcome and most thoughtful touches amidst the birth of another grand child. Perfect accommodation which enabled my elderly parents to have their own annexe; living and shower room etc and time away from the rest of the family, Dog friendly although ours could have been more friendly! Great location for trips into Carlisle or Newcastle and all of the places in between! Head to the centre of Britain and find your own pot of gold!

fabulous fabulous fabulous
I have stayed in lots of cottages and lodges and this has to be the best, the cottage has everything you would need and all was of a high standard from the furnishings to the bed linen and kitchen items. I along with my husband and adult daughter and 2 dogs were very happy and as we were looking for a very laid back holiday this was ideal, there were lovely walks and plenty of space for the dogs 5 minutes away which they loved. I can certainly vouch for this cottage and can't praise it high enough. Jackie was very welcoming and left scones and homemade jam for us along with a welcome pack which was kindly received. I will certainly be back in thee future.

A perfect family get together
6 family members got together for a weekend to celebrate a birthday. This is the most equipt holiday rental I have ever stayed in. I was easily able to make a full Sunday lunch. The cottage is clean, high quality beds/bedding. We arrived to freshly baked scones and jam which were delicious. It's very close to attractions such as The Sill, Vindolanda -although you will need a car. We are planning to stay here again.

Cosy Cottage
We are just home from a week's stay at the Old Brewery Cottage - we had a fabulous time. The cottage is perfectly located for exploring Hadrian's Wall and is very comfortable and well equipped. We were a party of 5 adults and there was plenty of space for us all. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner and were greeted with freshly baked scones, homemade jam and fresh eggs laid by the chickens in the garden. Thank you!

The best find ever.
This was our second visit. Will go back again and again. Beautiful character cottage with everything you need. Host Jacqueline on hand with homemade pies, quiches and cakes made to order. Delicious. Variety of home made jams, marmalade and chutneys available as well as fresh eggs from chickens in the garden. Just a wonderful place for lots of r and r or loads of history just a stones throw away. Highly recommended just don't book when we want to go!!!

Cozy cottage with every amenity imaginable
We stayed in The Old Brewery Cottage for two weeks while volunteering at Vindolanda. The cottage is clean, roomy and unbelievably comfortable with extra throws and blankets for chilly September evenings. The beautiful garden, the source of eggs, jams and recipe ideas must provide an ideal venue for barbecues on summer evenings. We did almost all of our own cooking, making full use of the well equipped kitchen, only discovering Jacqueline's delicious home cooking towards the end of our trip. Not only were we only ten minutes from Vindolanda but Hadrian's Wall, Hexham and Haltwhistle are all close and well worth a visit.

Just Fantastic - delightful spacious dog-friendly - so welcoming.
Centrally placed with easy access to Hadrian's Wall/Way this delightful spacious character cottage has everything as a perfect base for exploring Hadrian country. The owners couldn't be more helpful and welcoming and will even provide meals if requested. Homemade jams and marmalades available in the cottage, just select and leave the money on the shelf! Quiet village setting with very close access to the main Carlisle to Newcastle road gives you the peace for a relaxing break and the mobility for visiting attractions with the minimum of hassle.
