Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire, Scotland
Brockieside is a beautifully restored shepherd's cottage that puts the personal touch into self-catering. Receive a warm welcome from owner Peter and his faithful companion, Heeruh the Border Terrier.

As a family-run business, Brockieside has that extra-special 'home from 'home' atmosphere, where you can relax in your tastefully decorated and furnished cottage, and look out over spectacular views from restful surroundings. With extra touches, such as a wide range of specialized teas and coffees, candles, books, and dvds; you can enjoy a cosy retreat from the hustle and bustle.

Brockieside is surrounded by wonderful walks, places of interest and is a short journey from the three main cities: Glasgow, Stirling, and Edinburgh. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to stay with us.

About the neighbourhood
The nearby town of Kilsyth has many of the elements associated with a Scottish market town, including a pedestrianised Main Street with a wide range of local and specialist independent shops, attractive parks and gardens at Burngreen and Colzium complete with bandstands, welcoming hostelries such as the Boathouse and the Scarecrow pub, and a fair choice of local restaurants - European, Indian, Chinese and fish 'n' chips. [4]. The nearby villages of Croy, Banton, Queenzieburn, and Twechar are within easy walking distance from Kilsyth.

Townhead reservoir, known locally as Banton Loch, is the site of the Battle of Kilsyth and is the main reservoir for the Fort and Clyde Canal. A thriving marina has been developed at Auchinstarry close to the climbing wall and lakes at the old quarry....
