About the neighbourhood
Sitio de Calahonda is the largest property development you will find between Marbella and Fuengirola. In fact, this neighbourhood has grown so successfully that it could qualify as a town. However, it is actually part of La Cala de Mijas, in Mijas municipality. Rural flavour and coastal lifestyle are two of Calahonda's most attractive features, because, although the area is developed, its founder was keen on green areas, large plots and limits on apartment buildings. Thus, the area has grown in a generally peaceful and rustic fashion.
Getting around
Getting around Calahonda is easy. You can walk to almost everything. Or if you prefer you can use the bus as well as the local bus which takes you around Riviera Del Sol to Calahonda. A short bus or taxi will take you to the main station into Fuengirola where you can explore other areas or go into Malaga centre.
