Very friendly owners and everything as it should be.
We wanted a cottage with two en-suite bedrooms with walk in showers and couldn't find anything suitable at a reasonable rate in Rye. Found Medlars Cottage and couldn't be happier with the facilities, location and standard of comfort. In these unusual times we have not been as spontaneous as we would have liked but have booked a range of activities which has and will keep us busy during our stay. All good except disappointed with Hever Castle.

A lovely quiet farmyard retreat
We really enjoyed our stay. It was a lovely quiet location and a good space for us and our 2 year old. The owner was friendly and provided a high chair which was really helpful. It was great that there were no stairs so we didn’t have to worry about that too. We had a few welcome visits from the farm cat, cockerel and turkey which our little boy loved!

Medlars Barn
We loved the location on a farm with great views. We enjoyed the animals particularly the handsome cockerel and his harem .We got out and about despite the rain and the accommodation was very cosy.

Fabulous stay.
We stayed over Easter at Medlars Barn. Our host, Fiona, was very welcoming and the welcome basket was much appreciated. Accommodation exceeded our expectations, spotless, well equipped, comfortable beds, what more could we ask for. Perfect location, close to Rye but in a quiet and tranquil location. We loved Medlars and hope to be back soon, next time with extended family booking the other beautiful properties.

A Superb holiday venue.
The location of Medlars Barn is beautifully peaceful and tranquil. The accommodation is in good condition and well quipped and furnished to a high standard. Fiona and her husband keep a low profile but are very friendly and are at hand if needed. Medlars is conveniently located to many interesting places to visit, whether your interest is for country or seaside, and particularly for walking. We are interested in gardening so found Great Dixter and Hole Park within easy reach of Medlars. We took the opportunity to visit, amongst others, Rye, Dungeness, Tenterden and the vineyard at Chapel Down. Thank you Fiona for great week.

Nice rural spot
Very nice place to stay, situated on a small farm with pigs and sheep with three individual accomodations. Friendly host and welcoming hamper on arrival. Not far from Rye and Hastings, although you do need a car to get anywhere of course. Not to much privacy on the terrace if you rent medlars, the owners could solve that by adding some plants and a tree in the future. We can recommend staying here.

Lovely Farm Stay
We stayed at Medlar's barn in the winter and found it to be cosy, warm and generally delightful. Fiona has put in a lot of effort to make sure that the chalets have everything a visitor could need. She even left us local bread and fresh local coffee grounds to start off our mornings on the right note! It's the perfect place to use as a base to explore the surrounding towns and areas of interest while having all the space and benefits of farm living.

A wonderfully relaxing holiday in beatiful countryside
Set in the rolling countryside of east Sussex the cottages look out on fields with grazing sheep. Be prepared for visits from the turkey, roosters and their wives. There are delightful villages and towns to visit including Rye and historical sites. Perhaps the most famous is Battle where the Battle of Hastings took place in 1066 and which has an excellent visitors' center. The town of Battle is very attractive as are Robertsbridge Tenterdan and many others. The owners Fiona and Kevin are welcoming, charming and couldn't be more helpful. The cottage is most accessible and the large sliding window doors create a very bright atmosphere.

Beautifully converted and well maintained barns
Had a weekend stay for birthday celebrations, would love to go back to take in more of the attractions in the locality of which there are many and varied, with only one day out to visit Camber Sands, Rye Harbour and Bodmian Boat Yard Cafe for afternoon tea more time was needed to do our stay justice. If you like a quiet rural location with plenty of walks but want to be only minutes drive for plenty of things to please most people's needs you would not better these barns.
