Holiday Rental House
Situated on a pretty green-lane in one of the more secluded parts of rural Jersey and just a 20-minute walk to beautiful 5-mile St Ouen's beach - this recently refurbished former dower house creates an idyllic 2-bedroomed bolthole to 'get away from it all'. Whether you're visiting Jersey as an individual, a couple, a family with children, or a group of friends, the house has been set up to provide the comfort of home and give you a relaxing base from which to explore the island. The entrance to the house is directly beside the parking area and leads straight into a porch and the downstairs hallway. The entrance to the house is directly beside the parking area and leads straight into a porch and the downstairs hallway. To the left is a modern fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine with dryer and Nespresso coffee machine. The kitchen has a dining table to seat 4 as well as a small writing desk / extendable table. To the right of the hall is the large comfortable living room which has two sofas, a 46' internet enabled smart TV (with UK Freeview channels and Netflix subscription included), a games console, a selection of books and board games and an electric flame-effect log burner. The 2 double bedrooms are upstairs. One can be made up as either a super king-size zip-link bed or 2 single beds. The other has a standard double bed, a single folding camp bed, and also a cot. Both rooms have built in wardrobes / drawers and lovely views over surrounding countryside. Also upstairs is the bathroom with its separate walk-in power shower cubicle, full length bath, washbasin, WC and heated towel rail. The house is entirely self-contained and you'll have exclusive access to it during your stay. Outside the property there is space for you to park 1 car right beside the door. If you're visiting with young children or an infant the house includes a good selection of toys, books, games and various related equipment that you may find useful (many listed in the Amenities section of this page). I can also supply tips on child friendly activities, excursions and restaurants / cafes in the area as well as provide contact details for local babysitters.More

I live next door so I will be contactable should you need any advice or have any problems. I'll leave some guides and brochures on the area and its attractions for you and am very happy to help you with suggestions of things to do in the area during your stay. Otherwise I'll leave you to enjoy your time in private so you can experience the peace of this lovely corner of Jersey.

Reviewed June 22, 2019

A very well appointed cottage with lots of space. The owners were most helpful and friendly. A great location just a short drive to the sea and St-Ouen. Very quiet and private. I would recommend without hesitation.

About the neighbourhood
The house is situated in St Ouen's parish in the north-west of Jersey, among a network of tranquil green-lanes that provide plenty of opportunity to walk, cycle or horse-ride away from the busier main roads. The local area is primarily agricultural with most fields planted with Jersey Royals (the island's famous potato) or home to Jersey cows and horses. Jersey's scenic cliff paths, the nearby surfing beaches of St Ouen's Bay and Plenmont Bay as well as Grosnez Castle, German military bunkers / towers and various historic dolmen are all within a 30 minute walk. St Ouen's village with its two local supermarkets, pharmacy, ATM and filling station is a 5 minute drive, the airport 15 minutes and the main town of St Helier 20 minutes away.
Getting around
A car is highly recommended as the easiest way to get to / from the house and to explore the island. There is off-street parking for 1 car right outside. Bus Stop 'Millais', on Route 8, is a 5 minute walk from the house - this has services every 1-2 hours during the day to/from St Helier via St Ouen's village. Bus Stop 'Mont Huelin', on Route 22, is a 10 minute walk - this has services every hour during the day to/from St Helier via St Brelade. Liberty Bus website provides schedules for these routes and onward connections. I can provide details of local taxi firms who can quote for individual journeys or specialist tours. I also have contact details for a local bike rental business.
