I have joined Tripadvisor as I really wanted to leave this place a good review
We had the pleasure of staying at the hobbit house in February, 2023 and it was exactly as we hoped the experience would be. There is a fenced off area so you can enjoy your little hobbit garden, in my view best done within its private hot tub. The house is beautifully designed with circular windows, where my son used to enjoy sitting on the inside ledge, relaxing, and my favourite feature was the large circular heavy front door that gave a satisfying creak when opened. The facilities balance furnishings related to the Hobbit theme, with modern conveniences, this was welcomed as the hobbit theme successfully distracted our boys for about 40 minutes before they were asking for the Wifi codes), There was also information about the house, the Vineyard and local area. It was clear that a lot of thought had been put into the house’s design, such as the hedging hiding the outside bin, the positioning of the house and facilities making it seem that it is in the middle of nowhere; you can sit in the hot tub admiring the house, or gaze out over the vineyard and fields. This was wonderfully relaxing and no doubt a sight to see once the vines are more established later in the year. America and Nick were wonderful hosts (as well as Laura their Labrador who would approach to say hello whenever our paths crossed); America ensured she popped by to say hello and during this brief meeting it was clear she was passionate about both the Vineyard; where they make awarding winning wines, as well as the local area. It fact the hardest part of the trip was leaving our temporary hobbit home to explore the attractions within the local area. We popped to Hastings Beach and had a walk around Bodiam Castle , as well as an explore of the fields around the Vineyard. However, we were happiest when playing Uno, watching movies as a family (the house has a copy of the Hobbit) or relaxing in the hot tub. We would have no hesitation booking again.

Enchantment & Adventure! Doorway to a mystical Hobbit World
WOW! If you are looking for a quirky, fun, enchanting escape from reality.... look no further. This unique first class Hobbit House exceeds even the wildest of imaginations. We booked the Hobbit House (Halfling Hollow) to celebrate our 20th Anniversary and me being a big kid, and nicknamed the Hobbit myself, there really was no other place to choose to celebrate. From the minute we arrived we were greeted by Lora (the resident pooch - who was just adorable and just wanted her tummy tickled) The fact it had snowed, made it even more magical. My husband was sceptical as he likes his home comforts - however the minute we opened the large round hobbit door, he breathed a sigh of relief and we were both transported to an enchanted world. "High Quality" doesn't do it justice, solid oak quirky round doors, unique wooden skirting boards, high spec kitchen, quirky wooden furniture, multicoloured sofas, stone designed en suites with open pipework features, fluffy towels, complimentary toiletries, comfy beds, enchanting round windows, under floor heating and a welcome hamper comprising of cheese, crackers and a bottle of Oastbrooks finest sparkling wine. What's not to like? To top it off there was the added feature of a hot tub in the garden which was a welcome extra and very romantic in the snow and a gorgeous little log burner well stocked with wood to warm up afterwards. America, (owner) popped by and welcomed us, informing us of the local area and ensured we were comfortable. America and Nick really couldn't do anymore for us during our stay, they were extremely accommodating and catered to our every need. The snow lasted for the whole of our three day stay and we enjoyed walks in the local area, exploring the grounds within the vineyard, walking along the river to Bodium Castle and enjoying a hot chocolate with Brandy at the Castle View Pub. Just magical. During our stay we even joined the Parallel 51 club as we were so impressed with the venue, hospitality and the wine. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway or special occasion. Thank you, Michelle and Scott

AMAZING!
The Hobbit House is so beautiful and top quality, it’s cosy but spacious and set in the most idyllic grounds. There’s loads to do locally or you can relax in the hot tub and feel like the only people on earth. A wonderful trip!!!

Brilliant!!
Forget about the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings and all of that malarkey, come to this place for some serious relaxation in a setting that could easily be somewhere in the south of France. Pop down to the Waitrose for some rillettes, saucisson, camembert and a baguette, crack open the complimentary bottle of fantastic sparkling rose from the grapes that surround you and this is Provencal staycationing bliss! It’s hard to find fault, the house is more Grand Designs than a film set, you are more likely to see a Kevin McCloud than a Bilbo Baggins, with the craftsmanship and attention to detail first class. Even the knives were sharp, now that’s a first! There are great walks, the river is a couple of fields away to paddle your own canoes down (OK, it’s more a stream, but you can’t have everything) and a hot tub to gaze at the stars at night. America and Nick are the perfect hosts if you need anything. Highly recommended.

Magical escape
What a wonderful get away! In a year we were to celebrate a big birthday and had so much planned and then cancelled I had just about given up until we found this beautiful escape. The hobbit house is a slice of beauty and magic tucked away from the madness in the outside world. As soon as we pulled up outside we felt transported away from the craziness outside. One can tell on entering that the hobbit house has been thought through and decorated with love. The attention to detail is stunning. We had the pleasure of staying a week in which time we also attended the wine tour with the beautiful America who is one of the most glamorous farmers you will ever meet! America and Nick thank you so much for being such graceful hosts and we will certainly be back to visit soon. We can’t recommend the Hobbit House enough - I only hope there will be space in the the bookings for our next visit! Thank you again for our much needed magical escape. X

Sneaky little hobbitses!
The Oastbrook Hobbit House was absolutely amazing! The attention to detail in the house itself was nice to see - the taps take a little getting used to though! We very much enjoyed the hot tub and BBQ, and the bottle of wine was a lovely touch (and delicious!). Our hosts, America & Nick, are such nice people. We also took a tour of the vineyard which was really interesting, although a little wet! We have been recommending the hobbit house to anyone that will listen since we’ve been back!

Hobbit Heaven
From the moment we drove up and saw the outside, to the moment we left, we felt that we had been transported to another world. A beautifully presented replica of the hobbit house with every attention to detail addressed and finished to a genuinely Superb standard. Congratulations America and to all who discover this hobbit gem!

Magical place
What a wonderful place to stay. The trip was perfect and a great surprise for my boyfriend, he loved it! America was so welcoming and friendly, she is very knowledgeable on all the things to do in the area and it sounded like there was a lot! Unfortunately we were a bit pushed for time so we didn’t get a chance to try her recommendations but we will next time. The hobbit house really is one of a kind, built by them from scratch and with the highest quality materials, bespoke and locally sourced which really shows. The attention to detail is spot on, the authentic looking solid wood door really makes you feel you’re in the middle of the shire each time you enter and the place was absolutely spotless. We had a lovely hamper provided for us to enjoy. There were all of the Lotr films provided on blu ray and the hobbit films for us to enjoy. And the best part...the lovely Laura! America’s dog is the sweetest thing and she often cane to visit us for belly rubs, guaranteed to put a smile on anyone’s face. Honestly I have to say this is one of the top places I’ve stayed and well worth the money. We will be back next year! Oh and it was also very private, overlooking America’s lovely vineyard. I miss it already!

A truly magical place, luxurious and relaxing.
We were fortunate to be able to spend a week in this amazing place. From the moment we arrived, it was like being transported to the Shire with the Hobbit House looking stunning from the outside. There was easy parking (with the ability to drive the car right outside the house to unload / pack when needed) close to the house. Inside, it is stunning with great care and attention spent to ensure it looks authentic. The bathrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. With the blinds shut in the bedroom, it is a particularly dark room so is ideal for people like me who struggle to sleep. Nick and America were great hosts, always stopping to say hello if we saw them walking by and being very helpful with knowledge of the local area and things to do. Likewise, their dog Laura is wonderful, coming over to say hello every day and always looking for strokes and cuddles. This is a unique venue to stay at and we hope to be back in the future having spent a fantastic week there.

A Wonderful Hobbitting Experience!!
From the moment we arrived, to turning the hand-forged key in the massive circular door to say goodbye a week later, this haven of tranquility and most amazing Hobbit Hole more than lived up to our hopes and expectations. It truly is a masterpiece and deserving of all the accolades it’s already received. The setting is stunning and so peaceful. The living area has everything you need and bedrooms are amazing, cute wooden shutters that cut out almost all light, silent and the comfiest beds, pillows and luxurious bedding, perfect for a great nights sleep! The hot tub is only yards from the door and really relaxing after a day out exploring this lovely area of the country. There’s lots of walks and places to visit within a short drive and Bodiam Castle and the Steam railway only a fairly short walk away. We loved Battle, Rye and Winchelsea. Thanks America and Nick for creating and sharing this amazing place and the very enjoyable vineyard tour. Thanks also to Laura for welcoming us up in the morning, back from our days out and ‘guarding’ the door.... We would come back tomorrow and hope to see you again before too long :-)

We are easily accessed but in the heart of the countryside a short walk along the river from Bodiam Castle. There are a lot of activities nearby such as cycling at Bedgebury woods, Go Ape, kayaking on the river, many local restaurants and pubs and historical towns like Rye, a steam railway and of course wine tasting at our and other local vineyards

How to get there
If driving from the North you will come down the B2244, Junction Road. After the cross roads by the Curlew Restaurant you will then pass Bodiam Business Park on your left after 400m and having passed through a canopy of trees take a left onto a concrete road opposite two cottages. If you pass Park Farm Camping on your right you have gone to far so turn around. If driving from the South you will come up the B2244, Junction Road ans pass over two narrow bridges by Udiam Farm, passing Park Farm Camping on your left hand side you should turn right after 400m opposite two cottages onto a concrete road Once on the concrete road proceed 100m and bear left where a sign says Park Farm Oast. The box to pick up the key and the gate fob is there. If coming by train we would advise you to go to Battle if you have not booked a taxi. If you book a taxi Robertsbridge is slightly nearer but at the weekends has less trains. There are no regular bus services.
