Cottage -
2 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 4
Sollers Hope, Herefordshire, England
This single storey cottage enjoys spectacular views of the Herefordshire countryside in all directions. Whilst not the most picturesque property from the outside, don't let this deter you. Rated 4 stars by Visit England, the comfortably furnished lounge/dining room has french windows leading out on to the sun deck where guests can sit undisturbed whilst eating breakfast or watching the sun set over the distant hills. Interaction with guests
Ken and Veronica live in their own home a little way from the cottage. However, the cottage and the house have independent access driveways. When guests arrive the front door of the cottage will be left open for them but Veronica will walk round to greet them shortly after arrival. Assistance can be given with luggage if required. Ken and Veronica are always available for any queries during guests' stay and always pop round to make sure everything is OK during the holiday. Guests who prefer not to have any interaction can do so without causing offence

The cottage is clean, pleasant and homely, with good facilities for a short break or a week away, and although in a very rural area, is close to Ross on Wye, Hereford, Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean. Well behaved dogs are welcome and...More

Great place to get away from it all for a few days, nice safe garden for the dog to play in, and the addition of a wood next door to walk in with the dog was very handy. The cottage itself is well equipped and...More

Everything you need (including high seated armchairs) with wonderful views over glorious fields and countryside. The beds are a little hard (could do with toppers) and there would be added expense of further heating in cooler weather but this would not prevent us from returning....More

It was lovely to meet you and we are pleased you enjoyed your break inspite of the dreadful weather. It was chilly for the time of year, but must admit every time I popped into the cottage it was rather too warm for me. I...More

About the neighbourhood
Sollers Hope is the smallest of the picturesque Hope villages - both Woolhope and Fownhope are nearby and have country inns which are well known for their local ales and good food. However, if you enjoy cooking, why not take a bread making course at a nearby farmhouse.
The area is known for its unspoilt countryside and is listed as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Step back in time to enjoy the peace and tranquility and at night there is so little light pollution that star watching is a favourite pastime from the cottage deck. During you stay you may be lucky enough to see the local family of fallow deer pass through the adjacent fields, and there are frequently sightings of badgers, foxes and even occasionally hares at play. A short drive from the cottage is Haugh Wood with...
