This excellent Cambridgeshire self catering holiday cottage in a rural setting is perfect both as a weekend retreat but as a comfortable holiday home for visitors in Cambridge on business or for pleasure.


The Lodge boasts 3 double bedrooms all comfortably appointed, a fully fitted kitchen with dining area and a separate sitting room. The sitting room has a fully functional wood burner with all wood provided! All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with solid oak flooring and Egyptian cotton bedding of the highest standard. The kitchen contains all the necessary mod-cons tastefully designed with beech and Cumbrian slate and fitted with a full range of smart crockery, cutlery and glassware. Linen and towels are provided

We needed a location where family from across the country could converge and this property was ideal for our needs with it's facilities and being nearby to Cambridge. Even the Summerhouse (a 4th bedroom) was very suitable during a stay in October, and the Lodge wifi extended out to it, which was an unexpected bonus. The communications with the owner...

About the neighbourhood
Barrington is a Parish and village on the river Rhea or Cam 7 miles south-west from Cambridge and about the same distance north-west from Royston. It is easily accessible from London, 45 minutes drive North on the M11, and by train, Kings Cross to Royston or Cambridge takes 45-60 minutes. It is a quintessentially English village with numerous thatched cottages and timber framed buildings dotted around the 30 acre village green, which is over half a mile long and supposedly the longest village green in England. The village boasts a thatched pub built in the 1400s with a superb reputation for food and beer. We have negotiated special rates at The Royal Oak Public House for our guests, just ask when you arrive!

A1 southbound to A14 signposted, M11 Cambridge. Exit at M11 junction 11 signposted A10 Royston. Follow signs for Royston A10. Continue through the village of Harston for approximately 3.5miles. Upon entering the village of Foxton take an immediate right turn sign posted Barrington, just before the level crossing. Continue into Barrington, along a winding road for approximately 1 mile, to a T junction, turn right at this T junction signposted Haslingfield. Barrington Hall is another 100 yards on the left, opposite Barrington Church.
