Trethellan Lodge started life as a storage barn to East Trethellan Farm. We have found no reliable records to confirm construction date, but we do know the farmhouse dates back to the 17th Century. In the late 20th Century, the barn was used as a dog boarding kennels. The previous owners converted the barn into a residential property around 10 years ago.

You will enter the property into the open-plan lounge/dining/kitchen, complete with oak flooring, vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. The lounge area has comfortable seating for two and a TV with Freeview and DVD. The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, separate under-counter fridge and freezer, and a dishwasher. Interaction with guests
We live on site in the farmhouse so we are available should there be any issues. We do like to greet our guests on arrival to say hello and check if they need anything, but other than that, we believe it is their home from home so we tend to leave them to enjoy their holiday. We can typically be found feeding the animals, tending the grounds etc. and are very happy to chat and provide advice on places to visit etc. We like to take our lead from our guests on the level of interaction they prefer - e.g. if they would like to feed the animals or have our kids entertain theirs around the farm.

I rented the property as I wanted to have a holiday in a quiet location but close to towns, cities. The location is exellent. My 11 year old son loved it, too. Lovely property, clean & comfortable & very well equipped. This cottage is for 2 people but bigger accomodation is available. Great base for exploring Cornwall, with so much more to explore, we will return next year.

We had a lovely stay here just in the right spot for us to see every thing around Cornwall we wanted. easy to find and was very basic but had everything you could need.

About the neighbourhood
We are situated in a delightful rural location - it sometimes feels like we could be a million miles from the hustle and bustle, but everything needed is actually only a few miles away in either Lanner, Redruth or Penryn. And of course being in the countryside means we have some fantastic walks directly from the farm. The vehicle gate to the left of the farmhouse leads to a bridle way which in turn leads to a network of public footpaths, including the historic and scenic mining trails. For a relatively easy 30-40 minute walk, turn right out the gate and head up the hill past the farmhouse. This will eventually lead you to the road from Lanner which you can follow back to the property in circuit.

Ferry: Plymouth: 80.0 km
From the M5 take the A30 towards Okehampton/Launceston/Bodmin.

Continue along A30 towards Redruth.

Shortly before Redruth take the turn signposted Helston/Scorrier.

Continue straight on from slip road to a small roundabout. Turn right towards Redruth/Helston/Falmouth.

At the next roundabout (by the factory shop) continue straight on up the hill. At the mini roundabout at the top of the hill take the left hand turn signposted Falmouth/Helston A393.

At the double roundabout go straight on towards Lanner/Falmouth/Helston.

At the next roundabout turn left towards Falmouth/Lanner. Follow the A393 into Lanner.

Take the first right turn after the Post Office (which is on the right), into Bell Lane (leading to Chapel Hill).
