Admiral Cottage is a pretty cottage, right in the centre of St Ives but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. It has panoramic views of the harbour, pier and island from both the garden, lounge windows and attic studio bedroom. The cottage is light, airy and has been renovated to a high standard. The cottage is perfect for small families and couples. You enter the property through a stable door which leads to two double bedrooms situated on the ground floor. One has a double bed, the other, bunk beds. The two rooms are separated by a fold away door (perfect if you have small children). There is also a WC on the ground floor and utility room (situated to the rear of the property). The living /dining space is on the middle floor to make the most of the harbour views. About the neighbourhood
St Ives is well known as a popular holiday destination, famous for its beautiful beaches, excellent surfing and many art galleries. St Ives has a September Festival. The St Ives September Festival is one of the longest running and widest ranging Festivals of the Arts in the UK. The duration of the festival goes about 15 days and includes a range of arts from Music (including Folk, Jazz, Rock, Classical & World) to Poetry, Film, Talks and Books. It was founded in 1978 as a joint venture by a group of local entrepreneurs and the nearby International Musicians Seminar. There is a May day celebration like no other, which culminates in dancing around the Knill Monument. The fun stuff is the surfing, the beaches, the wonderful array of arts to buy and that unique quality of light that drew artists to the town in the first place.
Getting around
There are trains and buses available . Open top bus takes you to Sennen, Porthcrurno, Penzance , and beyond. Catch plane to the Scilly Islands for the day, Explore the wonderful National Trust Gardens.
