This five star duplex style apartment has one of the best locations and most prestigious addresses in Torquay. Situated in fabulous Georgian Hesketh Crescent in the leafy Meadfoot area of Torquay it is a wonderfully tranquil retreat and ideal for romantic breaks or peaceful getaways.Although it does not have sea views it has double aspect windows which mean that the whole apartment is flooded by light. Being almost literally only a stone's throw from Meadfoot beach, a 15 minute walk or a two minute drive from the centre of Torquay and but a few steps away from the bars, restaurants and leisure facilities of the Osborne Hotel this is an ideal all year round location. Being almost literally only a stone's throw from Meadfoot beach, a 15 minute walk or a two minute drive from the centre of Torquay and but a few steps away from the bars, restaurants and leisure facilities of the Osborne Hotel this is an ideal all year round location. (please not that extra charges apply for the use of these facilities) Immediately outside the gates to the Crescent is a bus stop from where a high frequency bus service takes passengers down to Torquay harbour and beyond (Service 64). This means that The English Riviera and other parts of Devon such as Totnes and Dartmouth are fully accessible even without a car. The Little Theatre is a ten minute walk from The Hesketh Crescent Apartment whilst The Princess Theatre and The Babbacombe Theatre are each less than ten minutes away by car. This means that the apartment is ideal for guests wanting a Torquay Theatre Break. This duplex style apartment combines wonderful period features such as high ceilings, and ornate cornicing with all the modern comforts of a luxury apartment. It has a very individual style and successfully escapes the all too familiar look of holiday apartments. A great deal of love and thought has gone into producing a lovely, private place to which to escape. It has a very light bright living space with large corner sofa, flat screen TV and a Ruark sound system. The apartment has a telephone which accepts incoming calls so guests can keep in touch with friends or relatives while away. The phone also allows for outgoing 999 calls. The fully-equipped luxury kitchen offers the carefree freedom to wine and dine at guests' own leisure; with a gas hob oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and dishwasher provided. A stylish glass top dining table features under a pretty chandelier, for a romantic setting in all seasons. A recommended restaurant list provided by the owner also gives guests the opportunity to dine out at one of Torquay's most beautiful restaurants. The high quality interior continues through to the serenity of the spacious master bedroom. Here guests can enjoy a tempting lie in to the wrought iron bed, curl up and enjoy the flat screen TV and get ready for the day or evening in style; with a pretty dressing table and fitted wardrobes to hand. A contemporary fitted bathroom suite to the left of the entrance on the lower floor has a luxury Jacuzzi bath tub and overhead shower allowing guests to effortlessly unwind at the end of the day. Private laundry facilities also feature for guests' convenience. Outside a private parking space is provided in the rear car park (viewable from the lounge window) and if desired, guests can use the indoor leisure facilities of the indoor swimming pool, gym and sauna of the Osborne Hotel Health club at their disposal (for an extra charge - please check with Osborne Hotel reception for availability and prices). The local shops and nearby supermarkets perfectly complement the holiday retreat, and guests staying here can also enjoy dining out on the doorstep, at the Osborne Hotel Brasserie. The well-established restaurant also conveniently offers a takeaway service (collection only). Please note that we do not accept bookings from groups or parts of groups such as stags or hens or young farmers.. If we discover such a booking has been made it will be cancelled without refund. About the neighbourhood
Meadfoot Bay is a short distance from the centre of Torquay and is a highly desirable leafy residential area close to the sea. Meadfoot Beach and Bay is a wonderful place to sit for a few hours. There is always something to see as the bay is a favourite place for scuba diving and kayaking. There are coastal footpaths close by which enable visitors to access some beautiful dramatic strengths of coastline. Its close proximity to the centre of Torquay and the Wellswood area means that visitors staying in the Meadfoot have the best of all worlds; Close enough to access all the delights the area has to offer but far enough away to be able to enjoy a tranquil and relaxing break.
Getting around
The apartment is within walking distance of Torquay harbour and town centre and a bus (64) leaves just outside the gates to the crescent. Torquay harbour is the hub for bus services and it is possible to get to lots of places locally. From April to the end of October there are foot passenger ferry services between Torquay and Brixham and Dartmouth. Steam Train services operate all year between Paignton & Dartmouth & there is a halt for Agatha Christie's holiday home Greenway.
